It's been six months since Sybil left August. She asked to be transferred to the eastern branch of The Order. She wanted to put a lot of space between her and all of her problems. She knew Max asked about her every once in a while and she also knew he got simple answers letting him know that she was alive and well. She didn't want to bother with making any new friends, but Kade insisted on them being friends and placed himself everywhere she was.
She was currently m.i.a from The Order for the past three months. She asked for a leave of absence and didn't give an explanation as to why. Kade was the only person who knew exactly why, but then again he figured it out and insisted on helping her even when she said she didn't need his help. She was staying at his cabin for the time being. It was remote and on the human side of the world so she didn't have to worry about running into anyone she knew or anyone tracking her down.
Kade was a great hunter for The Order. His knowledge of magic was more than that of any of the others. Sybil wasn't impressed with him. He did his best but still, she didn't give him any praise. It just made him work harder. She slowly opened up to him about August. He knew what he should know but not too much. She still wasn't ready to give every single little detail about her life to him.
"I brought dinner.'" He placed the takeout bag on the kitchen table. Sybil got up and opened it taking out her half and sitting back on the couch. She went back to watching her tv. She hadn't ever sat down and just watched tv before. When she was a kid she was not able to watch tv, and then she joined The Order and never had the time because of training and the assignments. She never really got the chance to see why so many were obsessed with it, but now she knew. She chuckled at a funny thing a character said.
"Thank you." She said with a mouthful of food.
"Wow, not even a how was your day? Are you even glad I'm alive? I've been gone for two weeks and you've been sitting in the same spot in the same clothes. You smell Syby."
"I told you to stop calling me Syby. It sounds stupid. I don't have a need to go anywhere I'm happy right here where I am. I'm enjoying my time off I haven't had a break like this ever."
"I don't think I'll ever stop calling you Syby no matter how much you hate it. Now come over here so we can eat at a table like civilized people."
"I'm okay where I am, thanks."
"If you don't come over here I'll call Max and let him know where to find you. I think that'll lead a certain someone right to our door." She threw a pillow at him hitting him in the face. He laughed.
"Don't you dare! I don't want to see any of them. Also if you threaten me with that again I'll break both of your arms and your jaw so you can't magic yourself back together."
"Fine, I'll join you then." He sat down next to her on the couch. "You do realize this show is for kids right?" He asked her.
"So because I'm an adult I'm not allowed to watch it? I find it really entertaining thank you very much." She went back to eating her food. She just ignored him and watched her show.
Sybil fell asleep on the couch and Kade didn't bother with moving her. She would just yell at him when she woke up. They had an interesting relationship. Six months ago she was nothing more than a transfer who wanted to come into new territory and show everyone her dominance. She was an amazing fighter that was for sure, better than half of the others who were actually from here. She was cold and never showed any emotions. It took a while to even get her to look at him with anything other than annoyance. She still looked at him that way, but she also joked and smiled on occasion. He could tell she was still healing from her ex, or at least he thinks he is her ex. She said she walked away from him, but she never said if he was out of her life or not. She just needs time to think over everything going on. She clearly still loved him even if she didn't show it.
