Otsutsuki Book 2 (Naruto)

Part 2

Chiyoko's Pov

I stood in front of my gate waiting for anko to give the order to the chunin working the exam to open the gate so that I could meet up with itachi and his team. Once the gate opened I ran in and turned to my right heading towards gate 7's entrance and where itachi was suppose to meet up with me. But I didn't get too far till the mist nin from earlier ambushed me. I was surrounded and had no way to get out. The leader of the group being the one who I punched earlier laughed "Oh man just our luck! the first person we find is just who I wanted to kill!" he exclaimed. I narrowed my eyes and grabbed a kunai as I got into a defensive position carefully watching their movements. "Water style:Syrup capture field" yelled one of the guys before a syrup like substance shot out towards me. 

I jumped up into the air to dodge the attack "Fire style: Great fireball jutsu" I called out before letting out a large fireball to burn away the syrupy water. Asuma had taught me all of the fire jutsu's that he knew and the fire ball was one that he had picked up from the Uchiha clan. As I landed back on the ground I rolled away from kunai and shuriken that were thrown in my direction. "Damn it stay still so we can kill you!" yelled  the leader in frustration as he threw kunai at me wildly, all of which I easily dodged which infuriated him even more. I was getting tired not use to having to move so quick for such a long period of time. I dodged one more kunai before running up to one of the mist and stabbing him in the chest when he wasn't looking. I jumped back and grabbed another 2 kunai throwing one at the leader and the other squad member. The other squad member was frozen as he watched his teammate fall to the ground and the kunai ended up hitting his heart instantly killing him. But the leader blocked the kunai I threw at him. The mist nin brought up his hands to do a jutsu when someone jumped down behind him and hit a pressure point causing him to black out and fall to the ground. 

I looked to the nin who had jumped down and saw that it was itachi and his team "Looks like we made it just in time" he said with a soft smile on his face "Thanks but I was fine" I said as I walked towards the leader and pull the heaven scroll off of him, before I could pocket it one of itachi's team mate grabbed my wrist stopping me "If you gonna travel with us then you have to give up this heaven scroll and find one yourself" he said a smirk plastered on his face. I snatched my wrist back and kicked his shins "I don't need your help, Itachi-sempai was kind enough to ask me to team up with you guys probably for my safety but I can handle myself, touch my scroll and I'll break your hands" I threatened staring him down which was kind hard to do at my height. 

I put my scroll in my pocket before pulling out a kunai and slitting the mist nins wrists as he was knocked out. "What are you doing that for??? he's knocked out and his team mates are dead he can't move on now anyway" said one of itachi's team mates "He know's my chakra pattern and when and if he wakes up before we get to the tower he'll track me down and try to kill me, if I'm traveling with you then you'll also be in danger, were from the same village making us comrades and my sensei(s) always said to always protect your comrades even if it costs your life" I said thinking back to one of the first things that kakashi-sensei had taught me while I trained under him and asuma-sensei for my ninjutsu. "But there's no reason to bleed him out" said itachi "Its not deep enough to kill him, but by the time he wakes up he'll be pretty weak causing him to slow down do to the lack of blood and if were luckily maybe some dirt will get in there and infect his wrists making him even slower" I said while walking towards the tree line "Now lets go get you guys a scroll so that we can get to the tower faster" I say while jumping into a tree and taking off towards the center. Since we stayed behind more than other teams by the time we catch up to them  it'll be night time and they could probably just steal a scroll instead of getting into a lengthy fight that'd last a while. 

And I was right, the first team that we had found was out cold on the ground. Itachi had used his sharingan and clarified that they were real. Getting the scroll was really easy, I wanted to plant a fake on them but one of them started to stir awake so we had to get out of there and fast. Thankfully we weren't caught but  now we had to get to the tower without encountering any other team and/or losing our scrolls. Getting to the tower was easy but we were almost ambushed outside of the building. A team of stone nin had made a really elaborate trap. The first part was a genjutsu which itachi had saw through with his sharingan? I think that's what he called it. Then there was a trip wire hidden behind another trip wire which was going to cause a landslide that would have killed us and they would've taken our scrolls easily. Their plan was great and the trap was devised really well too but too bad we had an uchiha with us. Itachi  took down the genjutsu as I deactivated the trap and itachi's team mates took a break and sat on the ground 'Lazy jerks...'

When we got into the tower I split off from their group. "Thanks for letting me tag along itachi-sempai" I said with a slight bow, itachi smile and ruffled my hair "Don't worry about it" he said. I turned to leave and open the scroll in one of the rooms but one of itachi's team mates stopped me "Aren't you going to thank us as well?" he asked, I sighed and turned back to them "No, you haven't helped me you two only wanted to take my scroll and ditch me out in the forest like the lazy jerks you are" I said before walking away. I walked into one of the rooms and opened both of the scroll. They turned out to be summoning scrolls and gramps so happened to appear in the room. He explained what it meant to be a shinobi and told me that I did well. Since it was still the first day I got a whole 4 days to rest up or at least 1 since I doubt that everyone was going to make it here within today like we had. In truth mine and itachi's teams were the first to arrive and we had surprised some of the instructors since they didn't expect anyone one of the teams same village or not to team up and make it to the tower as fast as we did, there's probably going to be a rule about teaming up in the future exams....

By the time that the other teams had made it to the tower I was at full strength once again. We didn't have to go through a preliminary around unlike last years group since only 10 of us made it through, there was Itachi's team, me, 1 stone team, and a sand team. Gramps explained that for the next month we had time to train and recover before the 3rd part of the exam. We all drew numbers and I have to fight with one of itachi's team mates, and itachi had to fight one of the stone nin. It was set up in a barrack system of one on one fights and from the look of it if both me and itachi win all of our fights we'd have to fight each other in the very last round so I'd need to do some serious training if I ever wanted to have a chance at beating the Uchiha prodigy. 

After gramps had let us go I went straight home and took a shower. Next I went to look for any of my sensei's so that we can continue training till the exams start back up. I had spent one week on taijutsu, one week on ninjutsu and 2 weeks on genjutsu since my abilities in genjutsu were very low and there's an Uchiha in the 3rd exam so I want to at least have a little bit of a chance against him. Once the day of the 3rd exam came up I was nervous but excited at the same time. I met up with the other contestants in the arena. The guy I had to fight was wearing a cocky smile on his face as he looked down to me 'He probably thinks I'll be down within the first minute of the battle'
