When Jake woke, he was laying in a dark room. Looked like it was an abandoned house. When he tried to sit up, he felt a shock of pain run through his body and he screamed. He flopped back down onto the bed. That car must have messed him up a hell lot. But wait, where was he? Who brought him here? Why was he here? How was he even still alive? As he thought about all this, Jake heard the door to this old room creek open and a person step inside the room. "Hey, you awake? I heard you scream. You alright?" This voice sounded kind of darkish, but also concerned for Jake. Jake replied in a loud whisper voice, "Yes, I'm awake. And yes, I'm in all kinds of hurt at the moment, mate. I don't really seem to be able to move without it hurting like a blood hound trying to chew my arm off." A little snicker was heard from the other unknown person in the room and he said, "I'm sorry for laughing, but your accent is really thick! Anyway, please let me help you with your pain." The unknown person walked over to the bed that Jake was laying on and Jake could now see this person. He had dark, black hair and pale skin. His eyes were a light blue and his clothes were black. His hair was grown to his shoulders. The boy looked to be about the same age as Jake. The boy said, "By the way, the name's Riften. I'll ask you for yours later, but what I need you to do is close your eyes and count to one backwards from ten. It'll help." The boy, Riften, placed his hands flat on Jake's chest and closed his eyes. Jake questioned himself but soon gave up and just began counting backwards in his head. "10." Jake felt his eyes suddenly slide shut without his approval. His eyes wouldn't open back up, so Jake just decided to continue counting. "9." Jake felt a sudden breeze swirl around his chest area and Riften's hands. "8." Jake was going to ask, but his mouth wouldn't open either. "7." Jake didn't even know why he was still count, but he felt that it was somehow important. "6." The breeze was now getting stronger and Jake could see a blue light through his eyelids. "5." Jake started to feel Riften... shaking? Why was he shaking? Maybe, somehow, this breeze is causing him to get exhausted. But then, why did Jake start to feel less pain and more energetic? "4." The breeze now kinda felt like a mini tornado, centered at Riften's hands on Jake's chest. And that blue light was getting extremely bright, even through Jake's eyelids. "3." The wind began to calm and the bright light began to die down. "2." The wind was completely gone, but the light was there for a bit longer. So were Riften's hands. "1." The light had completely vanished and Riften removed his hands. "0..." Riften said to Jake in a proud and happy tone, "Ok~! You can open your eyes now~!" To Jake's surprise, he actually opened his eyes. Jake sat up quickly and looked toward Riften, hanging his legs off the side of the bed. Jake realized that he didn't have the pain anymore. Jake asked Riften in a shocked voice, "H- how did y- you do th- that?!" Riften's smile faded to a frown and said, "Well... Please promise you won't hate me or think I'm a freak, okay?" Jake nodded quickly, eager to know how he was "fixed". Riften started to explain, "Well, you see... I... I was..."
