Ch.15- Zingiber Officinale
The dark elf chuckled. "You must be clever or that pathetic traitor told you how to break that spell, huh?"
The dragonbourne didn't say anything, the sparking flames only continuing to grow further and further out of his body and cover more and more of him. His head and the upper parts of his chest and arms were covered by the fiery magic and spreading further and further.
"Even your magic is strange! As strange as that abomination's magic! No wonder the pair of you stuck together... two freaks against the natural order, finding some sort of sickly comfort in each other right?" The elf continued to poke, but the dragonbourne didn't respond back.
The elf gulped, feeling sweat begin to build on the back of his neck. He couldn't tell if it was there from the heat... or if it was there because he was genuinely starting to fear whatever this dragonbourne was.
"What? Not going to yell any-" The elf started and then saw the dragonbourne move.
More fiery magic came off of him, this time looking to make wings of fire. The elf could only barely inhale as the dragonbourne was suddenly before him. The fiery magic covered the elf even before then punch came, but as soon as dragonbourne made contact with the elf, the magic burst into a fiery explosion.
The elf screamed, falling to his knees and attempting to roll away the fire that was burning him alive. But no matter what he did, how much soil he threw on him, the fire would not go out. Was this the power of dragon flames? That once burned by them, one wouldn't ever be able to extinguish them so long as the dragon wanted them to burn.
The elf let out a groan and his eyes focused on something. That half-elf was still passed out on the ground, not having yet recovered from the spell. The elf smirked. If he was going to die... then he wasn't going to do it alone.
He reached down into his pocket, the fire bright enough that the dragonbourne didn't see him do so. He pulled out a trio of throwing knives and found what little strength he had left to sit up on his knees and throw the knives at the half-elf. The tips of the knives contained a purple liquid and even a single cut would be enough to easily kill a regular elf... so the half-elf was sure to succumb to the poison.
The dragonbourne didn't move or even turn his head away from where he was staring at the elf. The knives got closer to the half-elf's form, only for more of this strange fire to come out of the dragonbourne's body.
This burst of flames was much more intense than any other had been. The flames spread onto the ground, trees, and even the half-elf. Even if the knives had been melted from the intensity of the fire, the elf couldn't care less. He got fire on his companion! She was going to burn now too!
But, despite the fire on the half-elf - it wasn't burning her. Instead, it seemed as if the flames were covering her entire person, making sure that should another attack come she would be protected.
"Your magic..." The elf shook his head, feeling himself finally start to lose his stamina to keep fighting through the pain.
He collapsed onto the ground. The fire on his body extinguishing the moment he passed out. But burns remained on his body and unless treated the elf would clearly die of his wounds. The dragonbourne moved forward slightly, the magic now having covered both of his arms entirely and was nearing the lower part of his stomach.
He stepped forward, gazing down at the elf before a snarl left him. He pulled back and delivered a swift kick and then another. Over and over. Again and again. The beast wasn't done yet... his prey had yet to truly suffer. His only drive right now was to keep going until it would be a guarantee that this elf wouldn't be able to recover or even live.
