Ch.18- Salvia Apiana
The world came back slowly to him. First was his hearing, which was picking up on the gentle sound of chirping. Then came touch as a cool breeze crossed over his exposed skin. He opened his eyes, wincing a moment as they struggled to adjust to the light. When his mind finally caught up to his eyes after a few moments, he was able to make out that he was looking at a wooden ceiling. Smell came back a moment later. It smelled heavily of medicine and his mouth felt unbelievably dry.
Bakugou slowly moved his body, feeling both stiff and brittle at the same time. He closed his eyes, feeling a headache coming on. Everything came back so quickly that it seemed like his body was overwhelmed and sending out distress signals to his head.
His head was pounding so much that he didn't notice the sounds of someone gently walking over and then pausing when she saw that he was awake. He only noticed when the little woman was right next to him and holding out a mug, filled with water.
Bakugou didn't even think twice. He took the mug and drank the cool water as quickly as he could. When it was gone, he finally took in the healer. The guild's healer had gotten the loving name Recovery Girl through the years, but it seemed that she had grown older, yet still was as youthful and energetic as always.
"Can you tell me your name?" She asked and Bakugou blinked.
"Huh? What kinda stupid question is that?" His voice was hoarse. "Didn't I just fucking wake up too? Why am I getting a damn quiz?"
His head was hit with her wooden staff and he recoiled back. His hands ran through his hair and he groaned in pain. Recovery Girl put her staff on the ground once more to support her and looked at the temperamental ash-blonde.
"This is standard procedure when someone has been out for a few days and exposed to intense amounts of magic." She scolded him. "So the quicker you answer my questions, the quicker you can go back to resting without disruptions.
Bakugou clinked his tongue. "Bakugou Katsuki."
Recovery Girl nodded. "And your age?"
"Sixteen."
"Hometown?"
"Some shitty dragon village in a valley between the sea and a range of active and dormant volcanoes."
Recovery Girl herself sighed at that answer, but it wasn't unusual. Dragons and Dragonbournes tended to not use official names, but rather descriptions of their home in favor of a name.
"Magical Orientation?"
He didn't reply right away and so Recovery Girl looked back up at him. She had assumed his lack of an answer was because he was giving her trouble for asking what sort of magic a dragonbourne practiced.
Instead, Recovery Girl was met with Bakugou's carmine eyes widening and his gaze falling back down onto his body. His hands shook and he grabbed onto his clothed chest. His hands squeezed the white fabric tightly and soon his knuckles were white.
His memory must be kicking in.
"I'll give you a moment." She spoke gently to him. "I'll return with some more water and something for you to eat that shouldn't make you feel nauseous."
She stepped away, her little footsteps barely making a sound despite how the wood was old and creaky. The noise wouldn't have reached Bakugou even if it was loud though. His mind was now buzzing with booming silence, creating an odd ringing in his ears.
His senses were either now increasing rapidly or disappearing just as rapidly. His vision kept clearing and blurring as he continued to look at his hands grasping onto his chest. His hearing was gone aside from the odd ringing. Smell was also lost, but to make up for those losses, his touch was being particularly sensitive. Despite the water that had just helped bring his taste back, it was now lost again as his throat dried and stung.
