11 - Beautiful

Damilola's POV
Things seemed to be turning out well. Just yesterday did Daniel tell me that he was willing to give our relationship a chance and now we're friends. Quite funny though.

I woke up quite late the next morning. It was weekend of course so I usually sleep longer. Firstly, I had my little morning prayer, then brushed my teeth then cleaned up my room and toilet like I usually did.
I went downstairs and the house seemed clean. It meant that Bisi and Angela had come to clean very early this morning. Their job was to clean the house every Saturday.

Seeing that they've done their job, I went back upstairs to freshen up. Took some time then came back down to prepare a little breakfast.
I already found Daniel down; sitting on the couch with his laptop and with his earpod in his ear. He didn't look like he had had his bath yet.
"Good morning"I said to him when I got close enough to him; not caring if he can hear me or not.
He looked up and then removed what was in his ear.
"Hey sorry, Good morning, how was your night?"Daniel asked,
"Beautiful, and yours?"I asked,
"Great, what's for breakfast?"He said,
"Ummm, what do you want?"I inquired from him.
He looked at me strangely then replied,"anything".
"Sure"I answered.

Later that day, Daniel had left the house and I was about to go out to when I heard the door bell. Who was at the door?.
I opened it to see my mum standing in front of me.
"Mum?, You're here?"I exclaimed,
"Se o ri enikankan tabi emi ni bi ni?(Did you see anyone else except me?)"Mum answered. I ushered her inside.
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"I asked her,
"What's wrong with me coming to see my daughter?"Mum answered,
"I was about to leave and you wouldn't have met anyone, so it's important you call, anyways what do you want to have?"I said,
"I didn't come here to eat, I came to check on my daughter who I haven't seen face to face since her marriage"Mum replied,
"Okay, I'm fine as you can see"I answered her as I sat beside her.
"Oko e da?(where is your husband?)"Mum asked,
"You don't expect him to be home all the time mum, he went out but will be back soon"I answered as I stood up; "Let me get you something"I said as I did. I got her a drink because I knew she wasn't going to accept any food I offered her.
"How are things going?"Mum asked; oh she does care about how things were after she connived with my Dad to get me married against my will.
"Good, not as bad as I thought it would be"I answered,
"Mmmm, you're still like this, your dad and I meant well for you my dear"
"Of course you did"I replied sarcastically,
"I don't want to talk about this anymore"I added,
"Okay Oko mi( my husband)"Mum said. My husband was just something that my mum loved calling me for a long time now; it was something that some Yoruba mothers call their children ( Male or female) even though they had their own husband;???.

Mum and I discussed for some while before Mum was ready to leave. She asked after Peter {our cook} and I definitely didn't want her to know that he had travelled and wouldn't be back for the next three weeks; she would start complaining because she knew I wasn't good at cooking. I wasn't even supposed to worry myself cooking at all. I was happy she left without further questions. As she left, I began to prepare dinner all by myself; hope it would end up nice.

Sometimes later, after mum left was when Daniel returned just in time for dinner but..............
"Your mum was here?, She should have phoned that she was coming"Daniel had said when I told him that my mum came.
"Exactly what I told her"I answered.
"Well it's okay, I'll call to check on her"Daniel replied.

Daniel's POV
We{I and Damilola} had a great dinner; her food wasn't that bad actually it wasn't even bad. We talked a little also before I went upstairs to my room.
Beatrice had phoned me earlier but I ignored it on purpose. I wasn't about to hear nagging of any sort.
I was in the mood for an interesting movie and I also didn't want to watch it alone so I got up and went downstairs.

On my way down, Dammy was already coming up. She stopped at the stairs when she saw me and looked straight at me.
"I was coming down to meet you"I said.

"Mmmm Okay, I'm here now"

"I wanted to ask if you could watch a movie with me, if you don't have anything else doing"

"That would be nice, sure why not?, Just give me a few minutes"Damilola answered.

"Of course, I'll wait"

She then walked past me heading towards her room. I also went up back into my room; waiting.

Few minutes later, Damilola entered my room already in her night gown. Men she looked so...........
"Okay I'm here, what are we watching?"She asked,
"This"I said to her showing her the movie.
"We can't watch a movie without something to feed our mouths with"Dami said,
"I'll be back in a sec"She added as she stood up from the bed and left the room.
Some minutes later, She came back with two bowls of popcorn???. Where did she get that?. She was really funny.

"Oh......I got it earlier"She said when she saw the look on my face.
"Okay?, Here we go"I exclaimed.
There we were together watching a very amusing and a little bit romantic movie.
Through out the movie, Damilola kept laughing; I never did notice she looked so beautiful when she laughed.
She kept crunching on the popcorn. I bearly ate mine.
There came a part in the movie that brought a very awkward situation between the both of us. We both stared at each other for almost ten seconds and what made it awkward was the fact that we were just like an inch away from each other. I could feel her hot breath on my skin and her bottom lips kept trembling.
I felt like taking them into mine but that wouldn't be appropriate for now.

But it just happened, I didn't know what but something had happened. Something very unexpected; very much.
