28 - Surprise party

Too much late update, I'm not happy about it either but anyways here comes another chapter for you. Enjoy it.

Damilola's POV
It was a day to Daniel's surprise party and there was a lot of pressure on me. Daniel could tell something was up with me but he couldn't obviously figure out what I was planning. I had made an exclusive list of the guest for the party and no one was to mention anything to him; not even an hint.
Kolade, Daniel's best friend, helped me out too. He was so into the whole party stuff too even more than I was I wondered why. He helped me with the guest list too.
I met Clinton the day before Daniel's birthday. He came around the house at the time Daniel was at work. Then I was just having my lunch.

"Hey, I decided to come check on since you've decided not to talk to me again even on the phone"Clinton said,

"Come on, you know it's not like that, I'm busy and don't you forget that I'm married woman, Daniel returned from his trip and we've been making up for lost times"I answered him.

We continued our conversation for quite a while that I lost track of time. I thought maybe I should invite Clinton for Daniel's party because they were friends before they had quite a huge argument concerning me. So I invited him; he was going to certainly come because I invited him specially.
Soon after his departure, I left the house to Dara's house. I had some unfinished business with her.

Daniel's POV
I arrived home and Damilola was no where to be found. It was 7pm and she wasn't home. I decided to phone her instead.
"Hey baby, where are you?"I asked her,
"Evening love, don't worry I'm on my way right now, okay?, Just give me about ten minutes"Damilola answered,
"I'm waiting"I replied her before the line went off.

She arrived about ten minutes later like she said. She gave me a welcome kiss first and then went to freshen up.
She came back down and we had dinner. My attention was just on her throughout. I was just thinking on how everything started between us and where we were at now. She's the best thing that ever happened to me and the best birthday gift ever.
She noticed I didn't say anything and was staring at her so she snapped her fingers at me which brought me back to reality.
She rolled her eyes then stood up and came to sit on my laps facing me. She placed her hands over my neck and stared into my eyes. I just stared at her back. She bent her head to kiss me. She took it deeply and slowly. I gave in completely. She finally released my lips then she started,
"I love you too".
I kept looking at her after she spoke without saying anything.

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me, I'll never leave you, for better or worse, even after death, I'm yours alone forever"Damilola muttered.
I didn't answer her but kissed her in reply carrying her up. She had turned me on already. I placed her on the dining table still kissing her. She kissed me back with the same energy then backed off.
"Finish up your dinner first, you didn't eat much".
I was so turned on by her and all she wanted was for me to finish up my dinner; devastating.
She looked at me then laughed before saying,
"You look so cute when angry"She chuckled. She didn't take time to take back my lips and continued from where we stopped. From the dining to the bedroom. I couldn't just get enough of her. It was always like our first.

"Good night my love"I whispered into her ear as she cuddled up herself into my hands.
"Close your eyes, no talking"Damilola answered.

Damilola's POV
I woke up very early as it was a big day ahead. It was my darling's birthday and I was so excited. The plan was to get him out throughout the day and pretend like I didn't know it was his birthday till the surprise.

I slipped away from his hands, walking into the bath room to freshen up. I had a lot to do. Before I could even enter the shower, I could feel two hands moving across my waist holding me in place.
"Think you can escape me without me knowing"Daniel muttered,
"Of course not"I said to him.
"Mmmm....... I want to bathe you"Daniel whispered into my ear,
"I'm not a baby"
"You're my baby so I'll bathe you, come on.."Daniel hissed as he carried me into the shower.

I gave him the chance to satisfy himself as it was his special day. He also allowed me to bathe him too. Daniel made sure he washed every inch of me and I did the same to him.
After on, we both got dressed and went down for breakfast.
It was kind of weird knowing it was his birthday and pretending like I knew nothing about it. He was probably thinking that I didn't care about him or something. But everything was for him. I want him to feel special as he meant the world to me.
Kola arrived the time he was supposed to and took Daniel along with him. Finally, it was time to begin work.
Sometime after, Darasimi and Nmesoma arrived. Darasimi was in charge of the decorations. The decorations had started. Nmesoma was in charge of the catering work and that was in progress. His cakes were on their way too. Everything was working out just find.

It was about two hours before the party began and that was when Clinton arrived. I wasn't expecting him by that time. Dara gave me a stern look when she sighted him. She warned me to stay completely away from me but I just couldn't do that. We could still be friends; it didn't matter what had happened before.
"How can I help?"Clinton asked me,
"Everything is set already,...... thanks"I answered him.
"Mmm...too bad, I wanted to help, trying to make things up with my old friend"Clinton replied,
"I want that too, you being here is enough to mean you're sorry"I told him.

Unknown POV
I stepped into the mansion. It was looking spectacular; this was seeming more than a simple surprise birthday party. I sighted Damilola from where I stood. I felt like strangling her to death. She stole what was mine and I was going to take it back.
Today ends it all. Once every thing works out the way it should, there would be no Damilola ever again.
Can't wait for the drama to begin.
