Jared let Rudy sleep on his shoulder during the flight to Arizona. He felt slightly uncomfortable by the weight of Rudy's head but every time he thought about shoving the ginger off he'd just remember all the nights he'd catch Rudy staring into space instead of sleeping like the rest of them. Rudy's rest was rare nowadays and Jared respected that. Jared spent the flight trying to conjure up some idea of how they could find Duncan or where they should even start once they got there but there wasn't a single possibility in his mind. He had very small amounts of hope that they'd actually find the boy but he wouldn't say that aloud because he knew Rudy would not be very happy about it. Rudy's bright outlook on everything was admirable but sometimes it was just stupid."Would you like something to eat sir?" A flight attendant stopped beside Jared's seat with a kind smile and when Jared shook his head she smiled brighter and looked at Rudy. "Would your boyfriend like anything?"
"He's good for now, thanks." Jared nodded and the woman continued her rounds. Even after the woman he couldn't drop his smile. It had been awhile since he'd called Rudy his boyfriend, he missed it. Jared dropped his head against the back of the his seat and closed his eyes, trying to imagine something helpful. As far as he knew, Duncan never mentioned a specific school he might attend or specific city he might live in so both of those ways of locating him were out of bounds. He wondered if Rudy knew where Duncan's parents worked by any chance.
Suddenly, Rudy sat up, startling Jared in the process and gripping the first thing in range which happened to be Jared's leg. He let go as soon as he realized what he did but Jared was watching him as if he'd pass out any second. "You alright?"
"Um, I think Noah is gonna meet us at the airport." Rudy mumbled wiping drool from his mouth.
"Who the hell is Noah?" Jared asked, furrowing his brows in confusion.
"Uh he told us we were all going to die last year because he saw it in his dreams, and I mean, technically he was right so I guess he's psychic or something." Rudy slipped a bottle of water from the cubby in front of him and nearly swallowed the entire bottle in less than ten seconds.
"And how do you know he's going to be at the airport?" Jared asked without even questioning the part about Noah being a psychic.
"He was in my dream. He doesn't speak, he didn't speak at Beechwood either, but it was like I could feel what he was trying to say without him actually using words. Apparently he knows where Duncan is and he can help us find him." Rudy leaned back in his seat and sighed, staring blankly at the seat in front of him until he realized that Jared didn't respond. He turned to the boy beside him and the first thing he saw was red. "Woah, woah, what the hell?"
Jared's nose was pouring blood and Jared was silently gagging as if he couldn't breath. He would occasionally choke out a small cough but nothing that really made Rudy aware of what was happening. Rudy jumped up and started screaming for help as flight attendants and passengers that claimed to be doctors rushed to their seat. So much was happening at once that Rudy could hardly make out what was happening. Blood drenched Jared's face, neck, and shirt, and his mouth was wide in a gagging motion while people surrounded him and tried to get him to breath. It was painful to watch. Rudy curled up and pulled his head in between his chest and legs, trying to block out the commotion. "Stop, stop, stop." He repeated the word in his head over and over but the commotion never stopped, only slowed down once the bleeding was under control. There was blood everywhere, on Jared, on Rudy, and even on the passengers. The boys knew everyone was wondering how Jared hadn't passed out from that much blood loss.
Seconds later, a hand grasped his knee, a bloody one that couldn't belong to anyone but Jared. Rudy looked up at Jared who was staring at nobody but him, his mouth didn't move but Rudy heard exactly what he said. "𝘕𝘰𝘢𝘩 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥."
