~Chapter 2- Hita & Emil~

The Fighting Academy's students strove for uppermost limits of strength and skill that one could reach in their lifetime. The building was founded by one of the great Ralosian warriors. The academy was comprised of wood, with many dojos within to instruct students. A spiraling tower shot up out of the building, it was the home of the Academy's headmistress.

At the center of the complex was sparring grounds, populated by several stone rings surrounded by water. Sun shone in through the sunroofs, illuminating each stage.

Hita attacked relentlessly as the muscular grey-haired woman blocked each blow effortlessly. The 11-year-old girl had gathered her brown hair behind her into a bun so it wouldn't get in the way, while her opponent Dama had her hair cut short for the same reason. They both wore the white fighting robes traditionally worn by members of the Fighting Academy.

The masterful Dama moved minimally, all while Hita bounded around her, looking for the tiniest of openings.

Hita backed away and threw a hook kick through the air. Blue light in the form of a thin wave emerged from the path of her kick. A Focus Wave. Dama ducked under the wave, pointed her finger, and a thin beam of light flew through the air. The beam struck Hita and knocked her back into the pool of water.

Hita wrung the wetness out of her brown hair. Dama extended her hand to the small girl, "You left yourself open."

Hita took Dama's hand, and she pulled her out of the water, "Fighting you up close wasn't working. I figured using Focus might've helped."

Dama shrugged, "If you had prepared for a counter, it might've worked. You're progressing well," She praised, "You've far surpassed me when I was your age. I'm certain you'll become more powerful than me in time."

Despite her age, Hita always had an extreme talent for fighting. Perhaps that was why Dama doted on her so much. At another of the stages of the indoor sparring grounds, Kika was sparring with Fitsu. Both wore similar loose-fitting white robes. Kika was testing herself again, trying to win without using her arms. Several others were sparring at the stone stages dotting the sparring grounds.

At the center of the sparring grounds floated a pink orb - a faint pink light was emitted from it as it rotated in the air, brightening, and dimming rhythmically. She couldn't help but think that if her brother Emil was still in the Academy, he'd try to steal it. Maybe pawn it off somewhere.

Ever since they came across the orb, the Academy used it as a reward to any who could challenge them and win. They gave that challenge a year ago. There've been challengers every month, but each was defeated by the Fighting Academy students with ease. It was disappointing.

So far, the closest anyone had come was a group of six young individuals that came last year. Some of them were barely older than Hita herself. Not only did the group do well, they nearly won. In a 6 on 6 bout, it came down to Hita and a young boy of blonde hair named Jirro.

Hita blushed as she thought of him. He was as quick a learner as her. He even managed to learn her Focus Barrier technique amid their fight. She had never met another child of her caliber before. Admittedly... he probably would've won if he wasn't intent on learning from Hita.

Dama was so impressed by the group's performance, she offered to take them on as students at the Academy, but they turned her down.

Before Jirro left, he asked Hita, "Are you going to enter the next tournament at Challenger's Lake?"

Hita nervously looked at the boy's bright blue eyes, "Yes..."

Jirro smiled, "Good. I want another chance to fight you."
