~Chapter 7- Free~
The former Sky Bandits and their children traveled the desert towards a particular cave. As they did proper greetings were made.
Diva walked alongside Aero and Jirro, "You must be Aero, right?
Aero gave a cheery smile, "Yup!"
"I thought so. It's been a while since I saw you. Did you know I was there at your birth? I'm Diva, if you didn't already know," Diva looked to the blonde-haired boy beside him, "And you must be... Jirro?"
Jirro nodded, "Yeah, nice to meet you!"
Diva smiled, "Nice to meet you as well."
Vos, Razan, and Lucar walked alongside each other, trying to catch up. Vos glanced back at Aero and Jirro, "Are those boys of yours strong?"
Lucar beamed with pride, "I'll have you know my son Jirro won the tournament last year. He beat your son and Razan's as well."
"Barely," Razan couldn't help but say, "My son came second, and your son was third."
Vos looked again at the two boys and his own son and nodded approvingly, "We've got some incredible kids, don't we? They might surpass us one day."
Razan rolled his eyes, "They all have a lot of work before they come close to our levels."
Corri glided through the air atop her sparrow Rojo while Valr flew alongside her. The two were quiet, simply listening in to the conversations of the others. If not for them, this reunion never would've been possible.
The group came to a rocky area within the desert which led to an obscure cave, one they would've easily missed if not for the adults knowing its exact location. Vos and Diva looked inside but found that it was completely empty.
"While we were all trapped in the Lands of Ranuulo, someone found our stash and took everything," Razan explained.
"Did you ever try and build it back up?" Vos asked.
"No, our greed is what got us into the Lands of Ranuulo in the first place. After we got out, we tried staying out of trouble," Lucar explained.
They left the cave and the sun peaked over the horizon. Diva and Vos covered their eyes, it had been over a decade since either of them had seen the direct light of the sun. It would take some time for them to adjust.
Now that they were finally free from the Lands of Ranuulo, Vos and Diva didn't know what to do next.
"You could come live around Platt Mountain if you want. The Densius there are good friends of ours. I'm sure they'd be happy to have you," Jirro suggested.
"Yeah, and Oopa's village would want you around too! With how strong the both of you are. You could help out a lot there," Aero enthusiastically added.
Diva smiled, "Thank you so much! Which is closer?"
"Platt Mountain."
"Then we'll go there first!"
--------------------------------------------
The group traveled north through the desert, towards the great mountain range that lingered in the distance. Unbeknownst to all of them, a figure was watching. Lunahreim.
Lunahreim looked at the orphans he had saved all those years ago in the company of their children. He almost smiled. Almost. He had a feeling that when he found them it would finally lead to the barrier's destruction.
There was a part of him that wanted to go down there and see them, relive those days long ago. But there were other pressing matters. He mounted his crow and flew away from them, towards the Link Temple.
He entered the temple as he did countless times before, walked its halls to the point where the barrier once stood. He inspected the gate closely and cautiously. He wanted to be certain it was destroyed before he passed through, he certainly didn't want to be trapped again. He was lucky to escape before and couldn't count on that again.
He waited at the gate for days, watching closely to see if the barrier would reform, but it didn't. It seemed that it was truly destroyed this time. Lunahreim stood, took a deep breath, and passed through the gate to the Lands of Ranuulo.
