Today was the day. May would be getting married to a man she never met before in her life. She had been pacing back and forth in her hotel room since she had gotten there. Her bridesmaids watched her in concern.

"You know you don't have to do this, right?" Rita remind.

"May, you have to sit down so the ladies can finish your makeup," Kat said, tired of seeing her friend on the verge of a panic attack. She walks up to her and takes her hand. It snaps May of her trance-like state like she finally realizes where she is and what she is doing.

"Sorry." She said as Kat guided her to the seat to sit down. Everyone in the room, understanding her emotions, bombarded her with 'it's okay, 'don't be sorry, and 'we got you.' She sat in her seat; she stared into the mirror, playing with her robe straps letting the ladies do what they were trying to do for the 3rd time since they started.

Everyone was watching her.

They were just as nervous as she was.

Her mother was sitting in one of the far chairs. She hasn't said anything to May since she brought the news to her attention. She didn't sleep well because of it. And it's was one of the main reasons May was panicking in the first place. Even though the two never always saw eye to eye in a lot of things. They still cared for each other. May would always consider her mother's opinion.

"You okay, mama?" Her mother blinked a few times, and she smiled, nodding. Taking a deep breath, May took that response to heart. As long as her mother wasn't upset or in the worst state than she was, she could get through this.

"I wonder what his family is like? Or think when they see her?" So Nini thought out, talking to Mickey.

"Who knows? I hope they aren't crazy."

"Lord, can you imagine him itself?"

"Nini and Mickey, stop; that makes her more nervous!" Makayla shushed. "Bad enough, these scientists are the only ones who saw him."

"Okay, okay. All I'm saying is they better be to her standards." Nini explains, leaving off that note. It made May smile a bit, seeing her family and friends come together to support her at this moment in her life. It's what she's always wanted.

"Okay, miss Flowers, you're all done." The makeup artist said, putting down her brush, liking her artwork. Like May wanted. Light and nature were her thing. Seeing how it made her feel like a new woman actually gave her more confidence than none. She turns around to show everyone. They all love it.

"Oh, okay, we don't have much time, so before you put on your dress, let's open this!" Kat said, grabbing the champagne bottle that no one touched since they got in the room. They were all in a rush, and nerves were everywhere to drink. Getting the same idea, the rest of her friends grab the glasses and pass them to everyone else. Kat went to everyone filling their glass. When she got to Mays, she filled her almost to the brim.

May looked at her friend with wide eyes, "To ease the nerves." Kat explains then pours some for herself.

"Might as well," May thought without taking a break, drank the whole thing taking in a breath. "Okay, let me put on this dress." She gave the glass to Mickey, who was by the bathroom door where her dress was. Closing the door behind her, she looked at the big white bag that held the most important thing for a bride, her dress. She pulls down the zipper, taking in the material that was now exposed. She touched, and at this moment, much of May's fears started to disappear.

At least she was going in the dress of her dreams. She starts to get ready. Everyone was waiting patiently outside the door, waiting for it to her in the dress. May's mother was the only person who picked it the last second as a surprise. She loved it the moment she saw it.

"Um...can someone help with the buttons? I forgot." May opens the door just a crack, and Rita quickly going into the bathroom, closing it behind her.

"Damn, we almost forgot about that." They laughed, and she started buttoning up the many buttons that seemed to be endless. Finally, after a minute or two, Rita comes back to join the girls. "Now she's ready."

And on cue, May opens the door wide, stepping out of the bathroom to show everyone what she looked like in her wedding dress. Her friends were covered in a wave of joy over this moment. May looked at her mother, and just her expression, she wanted to burst out crying. But, instead, her mother had nothing but tears flowing out of her eyes. And she quickly took a tissue Kat gave her.

"Mom, no." May covered her face causing everyone to laugh. "Don't cry, or I'll cry." She giggled, peaking out.

"I can't help it, May." Her mother was sniffing.
"You just look so beautiful; turn around so I can see." May obliged, bending down carefully to pick up her train and turn so her mother could see the back. "Oh my god, May!" Her mother really loved the dress.

"She's really getting married," Mickey said to herself, and she started tearing up too.

"Mickey, stop! Please, I can't take any more of these emotions! I just did my makeup!" May laughed, trying to pull herself together.

"I'm sorry!" Mickey turned her back to her, wiping her tears. And at that moment, there was a knock at the door. May's mother stands, wiping more tears, and goes to open the door. Her husband, Marcus, was at the door with a smile on his face, something that he usually never does because of his strict background. But it soon disappeared quickly than it appeared, seeing the tears on his wife's face. He looks behind her and sees some of the other girls with the same expression, and his face turns pink, embarrassed, not knowing how to go on with the situation.

"Anna, what's wrong? Am I interrupting something?" As he steps in, closing the door behind him, he takes his wife into his arms, soothing her.

"I'm fine, Marcus." His wife said, pulling back to show her smile. "But look at your daughter!" She took his hands and guided him more inside. His expression was obvious. His eyes widen at the sight of his stepdaughter in her wedding dress.

"Wow...May you look beautiful." May wanted to blush from the compliment. It was scarce for Marcus to say something about her looks; most of them were at her mother's. Marcus remembered when he first saw her as a child. So small that his huge frame always covered her, or when he picked her up and made it looked like she was a hiker on top of a huge mountain.  Now, look at her and the woman she had become. He was very proud of her.

"Thanks, Marcus." He laughed and walked towards her, and she had her arms out to hug him.

"No!" Mickey stood between them, receiving a confused looked from everyone in the room. "Are you crazy?! If anyone hugs her, she'll snap! Don't mess up the masterpiece!" Mickey warned. Understanding May nodding, she was right; she feeling as if anyone was to touch her with the tip of their finger, she would break into a waterfall.

Marcus and May looked at each other and smiled instead.

"You ready for this, May?" Marcus asked as the door was knocked again. Her mother went to answer. May closed her eyes and opened them.

"Yes." There was a lady at the door with a clipboard. One of the staff to tell everyone that it was time. It was now or never at this point.

And with that she had split second of what made her come to this point.
