(Warning long chapter)
As if they had run a marathon, the newlyweds felt exhausted. But they were thankful that part was over. Now a new challenge arises, talking.
"So..." Ji-Cheol started holding his hand out. "It's nice to finally meet the girl of my dreams, scientifically." He joked, and May couldn't help but take his hand and smile. They hit it off well.
Just like before.
"Likewise." The area we silent, too silent. She wondered how much of him changed since then. What was he like behind closed doors? And if this was a mistake or not.
"Weren't our brides and grooms friends supposed to be behind us out here?" Ji-Cheol asked, letting go of her hand, confused. May looked around; he was right. They were the only ones out there.
"Let's just wait then," May suggested; then, one of the staff came from around the corner, embarrassment reading of their face.
"Congrats, you two, for getting this far. I don't mean to interrupt. Is it okay if I speak to the bride, sir?" The staff asked. Confused, Ji-Cheol looked at May then the staff.
"Sure."
"What was going on now?" May thought as she followed the staff worker to the far corner. She started to panic and overthought everything that could be said.
"Is there a problem?" May asked as soon as they reached out of ears shot.
"I've very sorry about this, miss; we just didn't know about the situation between you and Mr. Kim." The staff explained that before the groom came down with his men, there were already some altercations between the two families that knew about their break up and why.
The staff was able to calm everything down before the groom came. But it made it hard seeing her walk down to actually go through with this.
"We spoke to Dr. Pepper and the team, and they had come up with a solution to get through this process; she is also telling this to your families." The staff assures.
"What did they propose?"
"They would like for you to hide the fact that you and Mr.Kim have met before."
"...What?"
"Believe me, the last thing they want is to cause harm. They're thinking about Mr. Kim in this. They don't want to groom to through a shell shock and cause stress to his mind for not remembering." When that said that, a wave of understanding and sadness rushed at her.
She'd have to forget everything they ever went through? Start fresh?
"Dr. Joseph also thinks to wait during your time together and as you progress through the relationship. Maybe he will remember some things. If not, no rush. And to plan with both families to explain everything when the time was right." The staff member ends off there. It was a lot to take in. Hide it, try to make him remember, if that doesn't work, break the news and pray he doesn't ask for a divorce at the end of the experiment.
"Okay, I understand now." The staff sighed in relief.
"Good, I'll take you back for us to continue; there's still your wedding photos to do next." She's led back to Ji-Cheol, who waits patiently for her return. She wanted to cry now.
What if he never remembers?
Then what?
Ji-Cheol noticed his bride in distress. He wanted to hold her to ask what was going on, but it seemed private, so he didn't ask.
