Steve

I felt the mattress dip down a bit, and a muscley arm was lazily slung over me, I immediately knew it was Steve. Sometimes he slept in my bed with me when his Dad kicked him out, but not often, it was usually if someone was already sleeping on the couch, or if he was really upset and just needed some company. We were close like that and somehow it was never awkward. We both layed like that for a while before he changed his position, wrapping his arms around me, so he was now holding me in a tight bear hug. Wriggling around, trying to get comfortable, I rested my head on his bicep, listening to his breathing slow as we fell asleep together.

*Fast foward to the morning*
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING! The alarm screamed, I groaned rubbing my neck and noticed that Steve wasn't lying next to me anymore. "Ya up yet, Doll?" He called from the shower.
"Well yeah, it's basically impossible to sleep through that," I replied gesturing to the alarm, before realizing that he can't actually see me. "Knowing you y/n, I'm surprised you didn't sleep through it." He said appearing in the doorway. He was still slightly wet from the shower, his muscles bulging as he grabbed the doorframe. He was just wearing a pair of faded blue jeans, with his shirt off, a towel sitting around his strong shoulders. "Steve?" I heard someone call from the other room.
"Yo!" Steve called back, turning his head. "You better not try anything with my sister." It was Soda's voice. Steve just shot him an award winning smile, Soda then decided to grab the towel from around Steve's shoulders and playfully whip him with it. Before long the two were chasing eachother around the house hooting and hollering cuss words at one another, while smacking eachother over the head with pillows. Ponyboy was combing his hair in the bathroom and Darry somehow managed to read the paper, despite all of the racket. I walked into the room, still in my pajamas, chuckling at Steve and Soda's antics. "Y/n, you need to get ready, you promised you would go to the movies with me today, remember?" Pony yelled from the bathroom, still combing his hair.
"Right, sorry. I almost forgot. I'll go get dressed."
I hurried back into my room to get changed.

What could I wear to grab Steve's attention? I wondered. I tried on almost everything in my closet and after long consideration I decided to wear a cropped white shirt with some denim shorts, along with the charm necklace Steve had gotten me for my birthday.

Steve was going to go crazy when he saw me in this, even if I wouldn't see him again until later, it would still be worth it to see his reaction. I walked out of my room, into the living room, to see that Darry was still reading the paper, although now the chaos had stopped. Ponyboy, Soda, Steve and Two-bit were all sitting on the floor of the living room, crowded around the television watching Mickey. The first person to spot me was Darry. He glanced at me, before realizing what I was wearing "and where do you think you're going, young lady?" He asked peering over his glasses. "To the movies with Ponyboy," I replied with a grin.
"Not dressed like that you aren't." He said placing his paper down. I saw Steve and Soda glance over at us to see what was going on, as soon as Steve saw me his eyes went wide and his jaw dropped. "Steve Randle, pick your jaw up from off the floor, you're drooling on my carpet! And y/n go put some clothes on for goodness sake, before you get Steve hard!"
"I think it's too late for that," Two-bit exclaimed doubling over with laughter. Steve's cheeks flushed a shade of tomato, Pony was shifting around uncomfortably, while Darry was silently chuckling to himself. Two-bit and Soda were laughing so much I thought they might just pass out from the lack of oxygen. I left the room and threw on one of Darry's old letterman jackets, before returning. "Happy now?" I asked with a fake smile.
"Overjoyed," Darry replied sarcastically.
"Can we go see the movie now?" Pony asked impatiently, wanting to get out of the house as soon as possible.
"Of course. See ya later boys." I called, not wanting to miss the movie. I grabbed Pony's arm and we left for Johnny's house, since we had decided last minute that he should come with us.

The entire way there Pony was telling me and Johnny about anything and everything, which I thought was strange because he barely ever talked now a days. He was halfway through telling us a story about something Two-bit had done a while back, when he stopped mid sentence and turned to me asking: "Y/n, what's it like to be in love?"
"Well Pony, it's real nice. It's pretty damn great actually." I answered with a grin.
"Y/n? How do you know what it's like to be in love?" Johnny asked with curious eyes.
"Well I've heard Soda talk abo-" I was cut off by Pony "cause she's in love with Steve, have you seen the way she looks at him?"
"What noooo! Steve's my best bud." I was turning red and trying not to smile, which I failed at miserably.
"See, she can't even stop herself from smiling!" Pony remarked.
"Hey look, we're here." I said desperately trying to change the subject.

We bought popcorns and a couple of cokes each so we wouldn't have to go back later, although we all knew that Pony would finish both his cokes before the starting credits even finished. It was a good movie and apparently one of Ponyboy's favourites: Rebel without a cause, it was called. Although he didn't tell us why he liked it so much, he did tell us that it's based off a book, he also told us that he personally liked the book better, but that's just cause he likes the feeling of the pages between his fingers and the signiture 'book smell'  made him feel at ease.

After the movie we had decided to head to the DX to go bug Steve and Soda. When we got there we saw Soda flirting with some blonde, so I decided to piss him off, but just a bit. "Pepsi-Cola!" I screamed running up to him, wrapping him up in a tight hug. "My favouwite thoda evar." I said in a baby voice, that I knew he hated. The girl just looked me up and down, snickering. "Why don't you go make out with Steve or something."
"I'll do you one better Soda, I'll go help him, he could always use another set of hands." I entered the garage, leaving the boys to do their own thing. Elvis was being played way too loud and the strong smell of oil and gasonline filled my nostrils. I saw two legs poking out from underneath the car, with wrenches and spanners lying all over the floor. He slid out from under the car, his face and hands covered in oil. "Need some help?" I asked cocking an eyebrow, a trick I had learnt from Two-bit after Pony told me he could do it. "Nah, I just finished up." He answered, turning down the Elvis and wiping his hands on a nearby rag, "but I'm off work at 5 and I'm starving, you want to go to the Dingo? Grab a bite to eat?" He asked, giving me that mischievous smile.
"I'd love too, I'll just go tell the boys, I don't want them to think I disappeared."
"Okay, cool I'll come with you."

"Hey Soda! Me and Steve are heading to the Dingo, I'll see your sorry ass later."
"Okay, I'll let Darry know when I get home, you two kids have fun, but not too much fun."
"Thanks Soda."
"Oh and uh remember to use protection."

*At the Dingo*
Me and Steve sat next to eachother in a booth, his arm around me. We talked for hours, he told me some pretty great stories, including the one I had been itching to hear, since the first time I was told about it: how he had once held off 4 guys with a busted pop bottle. I felt a deeper connection between us than I had with anyone in a long time. It was late by the time we had finished our food and we were both tired, so he took me home. When we stopped he got out of the car before me, before I could get out, he ran around the car, so that he could open the door for me, he then offered his hand to help me get out. "Such a gentleman" I said grabbing his hand, he flashed me his award winning smile. We stepped onto the porch, turning so we were facing eachother. We stood there awkwardly for what felt like hours. "Thanks for dinner Steve, I enjoyed your company a lot."
"Oh... ah... no problem y/n, I enjoyed talking to you." He said with a sly smile, before closing the gap between us to give me what I expected to be a hug, but this felt different. He leant in and next thing I know his lips were pressed against mine, it took me a second to realize what was going on, but when I did, I returned the kiss. It had now turned to a hot passionate kiss. Steve's hands were on my hips and my hands were tangled in his hair, I couldn't get enough of him, he tasted so good. I was snapped out of my thoughts by Darry opening the door, clearing his throat he asked: "so... did you two want to come inside, or were you just going to stand out here, trying to swallow eachother all night?" We walked into the house hand in hand, never wanting to let go.

I had so many ideas that I wanted to incorporate in this chapter, sorry it got so long.
