James and Holly came in behind me. Leo didn't look too pleased. "Cody is captured and Jessica almost drowned. Someone explain to me how the hell we're going to defeat David now." He was pissed.
Before either of them could speak, I spoke up. "We do have a plan."
His eyes widened as he busted out laughing. I raised my eyebrow at him. James's hand touched my shoulder. "We? No, you have nothing to with this. You are coming back with me." Leo went to grab me, but I backed into James's arms. He quickly wrapped them around me. James gave him a stern look. "Why don't you listen to her?"
Leo silently stared at us for a few moments. Then he puffed out in anger. "Fine." James and I looked up at each other. While James was gone, we were mind communicating. We came up with a risky but cleaver plan. The bathtub thing, however, was not part of the plan.
"Jess. Promise me one thing. No matter what happens, we tell no one about this. It can be used against us."
"Only you and I can do this?" I asked confused.
"Yes. You'll have to master being able to do other things and talk at the same time."
Leo sat in a chair in the corner of the room. James, Holly and I sat on the couch. "We planned to use me as bait to get in. Once they had me and thought that they've won, James and Holly surprise attack."
"And get themselves killed going out all halfcocked?" He stared at them. "They do have Cody. Torturing him now as we speak." Holly turned her head away. She must have felt guilty.
I cleared my throat. "If you have a better idea, then enlighten us."
Leo gave us a dirty look. His eyes beamed at James. "What did you say to her?"
He shrugged. "Nothing. Unless you mind communicated something to her." He smirked.
Leo groaned. "Only powerful angels can do that. No one has been able to do it in the last 200 years." My eyes widened. James could do it. Does that mean he's powerful? But he almost died fighting David. Leo raised his eyebrow at me. Then he came over and examined my neck. "He left a scar. Its infectious."
Holly gasped. "Will it harm her?" She stared at me with worried eyes.
Leo crossed his arms, "It might help him change her to evil a little easier."
Holly grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "How can she get rid of it?"
Leo slowly stood up. "James can look into it." He looked up at the ceiling. "We'll be in touch." He disappeared before our eyes.
Holly rolled her eyes. "I don't know what's with his new attitude, but it fucking sucks."
James's eyes narrowed to the floor. "I don't think this all went as he planned it. Especially with Jess."
Holly stood up and ran her fingers through her hair. "I feel so bad for Cody. I hope he will be strong enough to fight once we free him."
James stood up and pulled me to my feet. Our eyes met. "I'll be back. I need to find the cure. I'm not going to let this thing spread anymore." He kissed my forehead. He turned into an angel and flew through the roof. My eyes stared up at the ceiling. "Be careful. I don't want you to go missing next."
His voice echoed in my mind. "Don't worry Jess. I'll be back as soon as I can."
I glanced over at Holly. "Where is he going?"
She stretched her arms out. "To the library more than likely." I was confused. She saw my face. "Not the ones we can go to. This one, is in Angel City."
