I didn't know where we were. My vision was still blurry from the blast. My eyes still burned. Holly and Cody led me over to a couch. I sat down quietly. My tears made the burning worse. My ears didn't hear James's voice. It was a clear sign; he didn't make it. Someone sat next to me. Their hand was on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry Jess." It was Cody. Holly kneeled in front of me and dabbed my eyes. I could barely make out that it was her. Her hand was in front of my face. The only way I could tell was because of the dark shadow in front. A light hit my eyes. It was burning even worse. I screamed in pain and moved her hand away. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" The light vanished and everything was still blurry. She sighed. "I can't heal her. The blast must have caused her to become blind." Her voice sounded defeated.

Cody's hand was on my back. "Can you see anything?"

Holly made a noise. "Great question."

I shook my head. "It's just blurry. Nothing is clear. Sometimes I can't see anything." I licked my lips. "Where are we?"

Her hand gently touched my face. "James's cabin." She got quiet for a moment. "I'm sorry to tell you this, but your eyes are white. I don't know if your vision will return on its own. And I don't want to hurt you in order to heal you." I sniffled. Being blind for the rest of my life wasn't exactly what I hoped for. Tears started to sting my eyes again. I stood up and kicked the ground. "WHY DIDNT I LISTEN TO HIM? HE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE IF I DIDN'T GO." I dropped to my knees and cried.

Holly pulled me into her arms and let me cry. Cody cleared his throat. "We could have been captured if I went with him. We both could have died, if it makes you feel better." I didn't have to see to know Holly was giving him a dirty look. My tears kept burning my eyes. I didn't care. I lost him when I finally got him back. My heart felt like someone took a baseball bat to it. What was even worse, I was never going to see him again.

It took me a half hour just to calm down. Holly bandaged my eyes and made sure there was medicine on the inside of the eye patches. They helped me back onto the couch. Cody's voice was loud. "What should we do now?"

Holly smacked him. "Were not at a theme park." She took a breath. "I don't think I've killed Maddie. I've probably wounded her badly. Not that the bitch didn't deserve it." She chuckled.

Cody's voice wasn't so loud this time. "We can't defeat David with just the two of us." He sounded depressed. "We stood a chance with James. I can't believe he's gone." My eyes started to water again. The cabin started shaking violently. Holly and Cody jumped to their feet. A little bit of light passed through my bandages. It didn't hurt so badly. Then the room was in silence.

Holly spoke up first. "You're..."

"I'm sorry I've been away for so long." This was an unfamiliar voice. I didn't recognize it. It echoed softly like an angels would. He must have been good. "I was on a mission to fail. But as you would call it, something to lure me away from here." Whoever this person was, came over towards me. They kneeled down in front of me. Their hands held mine. "I left my daughter in great danger." A hand touched my eyes. There was no light. But my eyes began to heal. The burning sensation was slowly going away. After a few moments. He moved his hand away. The bandages were undone. I tried to open my eyes. "Take your time." The stranger told me. I blinked a few times, trying to get them to focus. After one more blink, they were back to normal. Holly and Cody stood in front of the fireplace in shock. The man in front of me was smiling. He had long brown hair. His face was very white. His eyes were blue and had light red lips. He was wearing a dark brown suit and slacks. I raised my eyebrow. "Who are you?"

He smiled at me. "My name is Leo." My eyes widened. This was who they wanted to return. He held my hands together. "I'm sorry it took us this long to finally meet."
