Letting out a long breath I set my eyes on Lila in which she glared at me. "It's been a while." She spoke, her eyes still on me but soon fled over to Adrien. "How are you?" She put on a smile.
Adrien cleared his throat, "I'm fine and- uh you are?" He awkwardly chuckled. "My apologies-Mademoiselle, I am awful with remembering names." He added.
Lila looked a bit offended seeming by the eye twitch but she managed to use her manners, "It's all well, Lila Rossi is the name. So, would you be so kind to introduce me to your Royal shopper?" She looked down at me.
I squinted my eyes, wow. The nerve! Were she doing that on purpose or were she just being an imp? Or maybe she were still in doubt because I was sure that by now all of world were aware that Adrien and I are indeed engaged.
Adrien shook his head, parting his lips to speak but I cut him off by raising a finger in the air. "Actually, his fiancé." I shoved my hand in her face, showing off the glittering rock on my finger.
I could see Lila's eyes darken with anger but her smile stayed on her lips. "Oh, my apologies." She spoke softly. I couldn't help but to look at her, letting her see the triumph sparkling in my eyes.
"It's quite alright, we all make mistakes but it's important to learn from them and try our best to not repeat." I offered her one of my heart warming smiles.
I looked to my side to see Adrien stuffing his hands in his pockets uncomfortably. I turned back to Lila as she spoke.
"So, why are you both wearing these," she pointed to Adrien's hoodie and my hat. "I almost didn't recognize you, well almost, I'll always recognize you your highness." Her voice was almost seductive.
Wow, I honestly couldn't believe that she were flirting with Adrien right in front of me. I mean, yes this whole engagement were a roos but she didn't know that! What if we were actually engaged, that is on a whole different level of disrespect. Maybe she left her manners at home after all.
"Just so no one recognizes us," Adrien chuckled "Yet I believe it isn't quite affective." He pressed his lips together.
I nodded with a hum, "We might have to step it up a notch to trench coats." I laughed and nudged Adrien in the side in which he sucked in a breath while letting out another awkward laugh.
Lila didn't seem to enjoy my joke as she didn't laugh not one giggle. Instead she cleared her throat and parted her lips to speak, "When will the king be hosting another ball? I really enjoyed the last one."
There was a silence then Adrien spoke, "I really do not have an idea when, the king doesn't usually share his plans with anyone." Adrien gave her an apologetic look.
"It's fine.." Lila trailed off then raised her hand to look at the watch on her wrist, "Ah, it's time for me to take my leave. Make sure I get an invite is all, okay?" She gave a curtsy then hurried off.
I turned to Adrien and shook my head, "let's just get the rest of the things and leave."
Adrien nodded, "Nice idea."
.....
Straining my arms, I carried 3 bags on each and grunted as I took deep steps toward the entrance of the estate.Adrien stood by the door, "You are aware that we do have helpers?" He questioned with one brow raised.
That I hadn't known but it wasn't a matter because I wanted to do this on my own. I didn't need help. "No, I'm alright. But maybe you could help." I yelled out of breath as I got closer to the door.
Adrien let out a sigh before making his way past me and retrieving bags from the automobile. He took about 5 on each arm without effort or struggling and made his way past me into the house. I blinked, how in the world! Adrien were a literal twig, no offense. He had a slender-like body with wide shoulders and long legs and arms. I'd no idea that he were hiding muscles under those long sleeved shirts and coats.
