Lucia has seen some weird things since she moved back with her papa and brother in Paris. She has seen toys come to life and come after Santa Claus, a giant beanstalk that reached into the sky, and a swarm of ladybugs always fixing all the bad things that the akumas did. Her brother, Adrien, told her one time all of Paris was underwater due to an akuma. She was glad she wasn't back in Paris when that happened since she is still learning how to swim. She doubts the akuma would have given her enough time to get her floaties.
She was playing her violin in Adrien's room with him practicing the piano. He would alternate between playing classical pieces and newer pieces to keep it fun for both of them. Their father probably would not approve. After they finished practice, Lucia noticed her brother staring at a piece of paper. "What's that?"
Adrien sighed, "It's a permission slip to go on a field trip to London. Father will never allow me to go."
"Why?"
"Because he wouldn't consider it safe."
"Why?"
"I don't know, Lucia. He rarely let us go anywhere."
Lucia hated seeing her brother sad, so she was determined to make sure he was happy.
"I saw something on an American TV show that might help!"
Adrien was going to question the little girl but before he could, she ran out of his room. She came back with a notebook that had paw prints on it.
"We can do a fudergy!"
"Something tells me that is not how the word is pronounced," Plagg said as he munched on cheese.
"It's an English word. They have weird pronunciations."
Adrien was half tempted to stop Lucia and half tempted to see where she would take this. His curiosity won out.
Lucia grabbed one of Adrien's pens and ran to their father's office. Adrien followed along to see how this would play out. Natalie opened the door and said that their father was busy but Lucia pleaded and said she wanted to show him what she learned in school. Natalie told her to wait a moment as she closed the door to talk with their father.
"Very well, you can have five minutes," said Natalie.
"Papa, look! I can write my entire name without any help," Lucia wrote her entire name, five middle names, and all in her notebook. Her handwriting was actually really good for a five-year-old.
"Tada! Papa, can you write your name? I want to see how it's spelled."
Whether or not he did Lucia's request because she was so excited or to get her to leave faster was anyone's guess.
"Amazing! Can you show me how to do it the fancy way? The way that is all curly?"
After he finished writing his name on the notebook, he handed it back to Lucia.
"I'm glad you are excited about your studies, but I must get back to work," said Gabriel.
Lucia kissed her papa on the cheek and went over to Natalie and Adrien holding out her notebook.
