Chat Out of the Bag?

Chapter 19

Today was the day that Lucia's maman went to her eternal rest. The little girl still didn't understand why her maman would rather sleep than be with her and Adrien. Her Auntie Amelie and her cousin Felix came over for the day since they said this was a day family should be together.

She was so happy to see Felix and clung to him. She loves her family very much. Maybe if she asked nicely, he would do magic tricks for her.

She didn't understand why Felix took Adrien's phone. If he needed to borrow a phone, he could have asked her. She used her powers to take back the phone and gave him hers instead. Adrien had important things on his phone, and he would be sad if he misplaced it.

She ran to grab her dolls to show Felix while Adrien went to get his chess set. She opened the door to her room and used her powers to grab her dolls faster.

When she got back to her brother's room, she caught Felix messing with Plagg's cheese.

"Don't touch Pla..ugy," she scolded her cousin. She almost said Plagg's name and hoped Felix didn't question her.

"Plaugy," questioned Felix.

"That's the cheese's name," she said, "I saw how to make cheese on tv, and I put it there for safe keeping." She added for safe measure while she gave him her best serious face.

Felix gave her a look like he was questioning his life and put the cheese back where he found it.

Lucia happily showed him the dolls that Marinette made her. Adrien found his chess set and brought it down to play. Before they could start playing, Felix asked if he could shower and borrow some clothes.

"You need to find a better hiding place for your cheese making, Plagg," whispered Lucia as soon as she heard the shower go on.

"What cheese making," questioned Adrien.

"Nothing," said Lucia and Plagg quickly.

Since Adrien valued his sanity, he didn't press the issue. As long as his kwami and his sister didn't destroy anything, he would let them have their little secrets.

Felix came out of the shower dressed the same as Adrien, which made Lucia giggle.

They had fun playing some games, and then Adrien showed them the messages he received from his friends. Lucia sat on his lap to watch and hugged him. Marinette's message was last, and just as she was going to speak, the video glitched.

Lucia wondered if Plagg had something to do with it since Marinette is Ladybug, and so Adrien and Marinette can't date until Hawkmoth is defeated.

Auntie Amelie knocked on the door and told them that they were going out for lunch. Lucia got her phone back from Felix and put it in her purse. She is not sure why he fibbed. She also put her brother's phone in her purse, and when Felix wasn't watching Plagg phased unto her purse. She had made a little bed for him in one of the pockets so he could be comfortable. She would stay close to her brother in case of an emergency so Plagg could transform him into Cat Noir just in case.

Lucia was disappointed that her papa wasn't going out with them. Auntie Amelie said it was important for family to stick together during hard times. Adrien didn't look shocked that their papa wasn't joining them. He rarely joined them for regular lunch at home, much less going out to eat. At least Natalie was joining them.

They went to a fancy restaurant, and Lucia couldn't wait until they served the cheese course. She has gotten quite skilled at sneaking cheese pieces to Plagg. The kwami of destruction was always pleased with her efforts. They ordered their food, but Lucia had to go to the bathroom. She gave her purse to Adrien, and Natalie took her to the restroom. The little girl was still on the short side, so she still needed help reaching the sink.
