As I got out, I was greeted by nothing but empty space of land, extended towards a mountain range on the other side. Just like before, it was nothing but dry dirt, with cracks in it like an egg. Thumbleweeds of different sizes were racing to a finish line that cannot be known.
I started walking.
The wind kept pushing me, telling me to go back, and the dusts were thrown at me, treating me like I was some garbage.
But even so, I kept moving forward and never looking back, never going back to the life I had yesterday, never going back to him.
I could still picture out his face at that time. He was terrified, depressed, and hopeless. His eyes were watered, like clear glass. I knew that he was about to cry, but I didn't care.
I let go, when the time that he didn't. I even hurt him so he won't chase me after that. In the end, I'm such a terrible person to do that to him.
I hurt him.
A tear fell from my eye, followed by a row of them. I tried to pretend that it was all because of the dusts and nothing else, but everytime I remembered that incident, I couldn't help but to let out more.
How could I done such a thing? Especially to him? He was just trying to save me from the monster inside myself, and yet, I stabbed him just to escape from his grasps. It was like I became the monster itself. There was no way I can pretend that it was someone else.
I was clearly the monster. And I couldn't change that.
After that struggle in the middle of the dry land, I could be able to have a ride back towards Yorknew City.
I was planning on going further away, but first, I have to prepare myself for that. I need food, shelter, and clothes. Sad to say, they took my belongings, even my Hunter license, so I had to resort to stealing some of them, even threatening them into giving it to me. I just don't have a choice.
I started stealing some clothes to change my patient dress outfit to blend in with the others, and even shoplifted a convenience store for food and needs.
In the end, I'm just no different from the bad guys that roamed around this city. I'm just like them, and I hate how I turned out to be right now. If only I have my Hunter license, I wouldn't need to do these evil things.
As I was roaming around the dark corners of the city, avoiding the public eye and meeting a bunch of suspicious people along the way, I saw a group of men in black suit talking to an old man sitting on one of the street benches. Out of curiosity, I hid in one of the nearby stalls and lent my ears.
"Have you seen a little blonde girl around this corner? She was wearing a pink polo and about this height." One of the black-suited men asked him, forming a hand gesture showing the back of his palm.
The old man shook his head, saying that he didn't know the girl the men are talking about. With lack of information, they left the streets and started walking to the other side of the road.
Blonde and pink polo? It seemed that they were actually talking about me. There could be anyone in this city with that same description, but suspicious people could be looking for someone like me. Someone with a distorted arm.
At first, I didn't know who were those guys until I took a glance of their badge that was attached on their clothes. My eyes were widened and I was shaking. I knew that some people were looking for me, but I didn't expect that they would as well. Well, I didn't expect anything from their tyrant of a chairman.
Their badge had the Hades insignia, the one and only thing that I couldn't be able to remove from my memory. But what do they want from me? Do they want revenge? Does slitting his tongue out not enough to make him shut up?
