Part 28: Control X And X Overcome

Maurice, as he stood on a pillar, had the power to turn the situation in his favor. The two opposing sides that was just fighting over Secco earlier, didn't have a choice but to work together.

But even so, Maurice knew that the two young men are strong, thus, he shouldn't be too careless.

"Let's play a game, shall we?" He said. "First, I want you two to come closer to me."

He pointed at the two boys. Only silence answered to his orders, as the dusty wind blew passed them, letting their hair and clothes flow.

Maurice's smile disappeared and his face turned into a serious one.

"You don't want to? I'll drop this girl then." He threatened as he swung Alluka's body like she was just a handbag.

"Wait!"

"Alluka!"

Killua and Secco yelled. Their arms are shaking and their eyes kept glaring at the enemy, cursing to kill him inside their heads. But if they do so, then Alluka will also be in danger.

She may be powerful, but she couldn't be able to use this power alone. Without Killua, she couldn't do anything on her own.

And this fact made Secco even more frustrated. All she could think of is how to kill Maurice in the most brutal way possible.

"Kill..."

She could hear the voices again inside her head. The whispers of her bloodlust echoed in her mind as if they were screams of dead souls. For her, it was an everyday nightmare. She already knew what will happen to her.

Stop it... Or else, everyone will get hurt...

This is all she could think of. Even with her desire to take revenge on her enemy, she must think of the collateral damage.

But even so, she was too late. Her eyes were now bloody red as if she was a vampire, glowing under the moonlight.

The skin surrounding these eyes became purple and wrinkled like those of an alien. She is slowly succumbing to the malice she just created inside her heart.

"HAHAHA! You're already making your curse take over you just by threatening to kill this kid!" He laughed maniacally as he pointed on the fallen angel. "It must be hard to have a fragile heart as yours."

He smiled widely, feeling the victory on his hands. After all, his mission was just to make her annoyed until the parasites can take over her body.

"Oh, and..."

All of a sudden, multiple tentacle tongues came out from his back like he was a human-kraken hybrid. His red eyes glowed even more in the dark.

One tentacle struck a pillar at the far corner of the floor, causing it to topple down and fall on the ground with a loud thud.

"Found you, missy," he said.

Behind that pillar came out a familiar figure. If one wouldn't look closer to her, she would've been mistaken for a boy.

Seeing her face, Secco widened her eyes and her jaw dropped out of surprise. She knew she just left her hours ago and being persistent she was, she is now with them.

"Y-Yuni..."

She called her name. The latter just lowered her head, guilty of following her and getting involved with her problems.

But it's not only Secco that was shocked at her appearance.

"I told you to stay on the ground!" James yelled at her with fierce eyes but at the same time tried to deliver it calmly.
