It became near impossible to ignore George's gaze the more time that passed. No longer did he look at me with just amusement, but I swear every time he saw me, he gave my body a glance. The I've-seen-you-naked glance. Still, I wasn't innocent. I kept daydreaming about it. Feeling his hands on my skin. Remembering the way his lips felt against mine. No matter how hard I tried to shake it, it wouldn't work. Most likely because every time I did, I'd catch him looking at me and the whole process would start over.

However, we didn't have sex again. We didn't kiss again. He didn't even touch me except if we bumped into each other in the hallway. I threw myself into studying for the next round of exams in hopes that that would clear my mind. It didn't.

"I'm actual dumb."

"Don't be ridiculous, Daphne," I scolded, propping my feet up on the table after she got the fifth question in a row wrong. "You're going to be fine."

"No, I'm serious, I'm going to flunk out of Hogwarts," she cried, falling over the armrest of the couch in the library. Luckily, it wasn't the couch we'd been on the other night. I refused to sit over there because there would have been no way I would have been able to focus. The only problem was that every couch in the library looked the same so I was most definitely still picturing him bending me over the back of the couch and... "Are you even listening to me? I'm going to fail Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts because unlike you I can't memorize 30 different ingredients and write a 14 inch parchment without batting an eye. I'm going to be sick."

I sighed, closing the book. "Look at me."

"I can't. Your brilliance will sear my soul."

"For Merlin's sake, quit being dramatic and look at me if you want my notecards."

She gasped, sitting up. "The notecards?"

"Well, yeah," I shrugged. "I don't need them anymore."

"Oh my word, Larissa Prince," she smiled, sitting beside me and holding my face in her hands. "I could kiss you."

"If you kiss me, I will not give you my cards." She let go of my face.

"Deal, can I get them now?"

I rolled my eyes, opening my backpack. I pulled out the key to my desk and handed it to her. "Bottom drawer on the right. Blue bag is Potions, black is Dark Arts. Don't mess up any others."

"You are a literal lifesaver." She ran off. I turned my focus to improving my Transfiguration. I pointed my wand at one of the books and aimed to turn it into a hedgehog.

"Now see, do you have notecards that will teach me how to do that or is that all brain power?" a taunting voice came.

"Mainly brain power," I answered, not even turning to face him. "How long did you listen to my conversation?"

"Long enough." He fell onto the couch the same way Daphne had. "Can you help me do that if I kiss you?"

I rolled my eyes. "If you kiss me, I will jinx you into next week."

He smirked before shrugging and looking at the ceiling. "You weren't saying that the other night." He slipped his hand behind his head.

"I'm also going to hex you if you mention that night one more time," I threatened in a hushed tone, glancing around to make sure no one had heard.

He glanced at me. "I like that."

"What?" I asked, taking my legs down so I could pack up my bags.

"That I make you nervous."

"You do nothing of the sort."

"That's what they all say," he teased. I wanted to slap the smile right off his face.

"You have no idea how much I want to slap you right now."

"It's probably no more than normal."

"No, it's a lot more than normal. I can assure you of that." He sat up, watching as I packed. "Stop that."

"Or what?"

"Or we'll have to make you," Miles' voice came from behind me. I rolled my eyes, mentally cursing as I turned to face him. We both stood up. I was in between George and the group: Miles, Cassius, and Adrian.

"Guys, I'm fine," I snapped. "I can handle myself."

While I clearly didn't need them to defend me, I genuinely just didn't want them to fight or figure out what had happened.

"Care to explain why you're talking to her?"

"Well, Bletchley, I believe it's called being friendly," George pointed out. "Obviously something you've never heard of."

"You think you're funny, do you?" Adrian asked, stepping forward.

"For the love of everything, can you guy's get your acts together?" I called over them. Madam Pince hushed us, and I took that moment to give George a warning glance. Once she was done glaring at us, the guys looked back at George. He held his hands up.

"Fine, I'll just be heading out." He grabbed his bag before mumbling to me, "Have fun with that." I put my hands on Miles' chest to keep him from going after George.

"Someone needs to put these Gryffindors in their place," Miles practically growled, glaring after him. I pulled my hands away.

"We'll show 'em at the Quidditch game," Adrian pointed out, clapping his hand onto Miles' shoulder.

"Hell yeah we will," Miles agreed. "Speaking of, practice tonight. 7 pm. Got it, Prince?"

"I'll be there." They turned to leave, but Cassius stayed. Once they were gone, I sighed, grabbing my bag. "What is his deal? He acts like he owns me or something."

"You're joking, right?"

"I know he's got a crush on me, but he doesn't have to be such a dick all the time."

"That's just who he is unfortunately."

"Unfortunate for him when I hex him." He laughed lightly, following me out of the library.

"So, why were you talking to Weasley?"

"He heard me telling Daphne she could use my notecards for Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts so he asked me if he could use my Transfiguration ones."

"Interesting."

"What did you guys think happened?"

"Nothing," he shrugged. "Miles is just overreacting."

"It's getting old."

"It's her," a kid whispered to his friend before they both turned to look at me. I looked over at them, raising an eyebrow, and they quickly pretended to be busy in conversation.

Cassius laughed, throwing an arm around my shoulders. "But that never gets old."

I beg to differ.
