Even more people stared than normal as I walked through the halls the next day. Breakfast and lunch were normal aside from the fact that Miles and Adrian sat elsewhere. We laughed about the same things and classes went the same. Yet, I still found myself missing the snarky comments and burning gaze of George Weasley. I'd look over at the spot he used to sit in or find myself wondering what he was doing. I couldn't even make it one day.
"Where's your mind, Prince?" Cassius asked as we sat at dinner.
"On the 16 inch parchment Snape assigned us," I rolled my eyes.
"Honestly," Daphne scoffed, shaking her head. "16 inches? Is he aware we have other classes and our actual NEWT exams coming up? We don't have time for busy work."
"Busy work?" Professor Snape asked, walking up. Daphne looked like she wanted to die. "Is that how you feel about my class?"
"No, sir, Professor, of course not."
"Good, I'll make sure to measure yours specifically." He continued past us towards the Professor table. I watched him until I saw Katie Bell. Good, she's back and not dead.
"Why didn't you warn me he was coming?" Daphne snapped when Cassius and Celeste burst into laughter. She hit Celeste's arm.
"Hey, don't blame me, Hannah and Cass were the ones who could see him."
"He came out of nowhere," Cassius defended.
"Truly. I had no idea he was even here," I added. Daphne groaned, picking up her bag.
"Fine, I'm going to the common room to cry and get started on this awful paper," she spoke quieter before leaving. We all laughed again.
"I should probably make sure she doesn't fall off the deep end trying to start the paper," I smiled, taking one last sip of my drink before getting up. "Don't let anything exciting happen while I'm gone."
"The exciting things seem to follow you, not us," Cassius pointed out.
"Don't remind me," I rolled my eyes, pushing Cassius' shoulder. "See you guys later."
I made my way back towards the Slytherin common room. On my way, someone ran into me from behind.
"Hey," I snapped before seeing Draco.
"Sorry, Hannah," he apologized, looking behind me. His lip was quivering. I furrowed my brow.
"Draco? What's wrong?" He didn't even answer. He just kept running. I turned around, but as I did, Harry ran into me. "What the hell is up with everyone running into me?"
"Where'd he go?" he asked.
"What are you doing, Potter?"
"Just, mind your business, Prince."
"Draco is my business. Leave him alone. He hasn't done anything."
"Yeah? I'm sure he's just as innocent as you." He brushed past me, and I glared after him. Once he rounded the corner, I quickly followed. I saw the door to the boy's bathroom shut. I sighed, shaking my head. Perhaps, I am overthinking.
I turned to leave until a crash came from the bathroom. Merlin, I hate boys. I dropped my bag on the floor before heading to the door. Accio wand. My wand flew out of my boot to my hand, and I pushed the door open.
"Petrificus Totalus!"
"Expelliarmus!"
Flashes of light flew through the flooded bathroom. "Are you two ins-" I threw up a protection spell as Harry fired at me. "Watch it, Potter."
