6 months later...
Life went on. It was beautiful. While Fred and Lupin and Tonks and everyone else left a huge hole, it forced us all to remember how important family is. We didn't take Friday night dinners for granted or turn down a random visit. Still, I could tell George was different, which was expected since he'd lost his partner in crime. I wanted to help him, but he hated to talk about it.
One night, we sat on the rooftop of Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes, overlooking Diagon Alley. Since Voldemort's death, it had truly come back to life. Business was booming all over the place, the joke shop included, but I could tell George's heart wasn't into it.
"Just say it," I whispered as my head rested on his shoulder. "You have to say it." He hesitated for a moment.
"I don't think I can keep this up."
"I know."
"It's just not fun anymore. At least not here."
"I know."
"Maybe Ron can take it over. I could still help manage, create new stock, but all from somewhere else."
"Can I come too?" I asked. I felt I knew the answer, but I needed a little verification. A lot of emotions had happened the past few months. He moved so I had to lift my head. He looked at me with his brow furrowed.
"Of course you're coming with me," he nodded, searching my face. "You want to, don't you?"
"I want to spend every minute I can with you, but I understand if you needed-"
"You're what I need," he interrupted, pulling me into him. I relaxed against him, letting my head rest against his shoulder again. "You're all I'll ever need." I smiled softly.
"So what are we going to do?" I asked. "I mean, you've got money, I've got money, we could travel. Probably never work another day for twenty years if we wanted to. Or we could settle down somewhere in the countryside, get started on our ten dreamers."
"You want kids right now?"
I shrugged. "Maybe. Life's short."
"Yeah," he breathed out.
"Do you not want kids right now?"
He didn't say anything for a moment. "I think I want to open a candy shop."
"Like Honeydukes?"
"No, a muggle candy shop."
"Really?" I asked, lifting my head.
"I think so."
"Then let's do it," I nodded. "If that'll make you happy, I'd love to open a muggle candy shop."
"You would?"
"Yeah," I smiled. "Maybe I could own a bookstore next door or be the next hot shot reporter."
He smiled. "What do you think of the name William?"
"William?" I questioned. "They'll call him Willy Weasley, you're aware of that, yes?"
"Willy..." he trailed off as if he was thinking. "Right, Weasley wouldn't work."
"Oh we're changing your last name now?"
"Like a stage name. I still want the W though, kind of like our logo."
"Hm." I thought for a moment. "West, Wilson, Wallace."
"No, it needs to be more... theatrical."
"Theatrical?" I scoffed. "Fine, um... Washba, Watanabe, Wonder, Wolf, Wonka, Wasweiller-"
"Wait," he interrupted. "I like that."
"Wasweiller? Are you serious? I honestly think I just made that up."
"No, Wonka. I like it. Willy Wonka."
"Willy Wonka?"
"Yeah. And I'll own a candy store."
"Chocolate is my favorite," I nodded.
"Then we'll have a whole chocolate store," he smiled. "A chocolate factory. All for you."
"Well, this is splendid, but what about children, Mr. Wonka?"
"Hundreds of them."
"As the one who would be having the children, hell no."
He laughed, giving me a little squeeze. "Not our own children. I mean, well, it's complicated."
"Let's talk complicated later," I sighed, bringing a hand to his face. I searched his eyes and smiled. "For now, we just have each other, and Willy Wonka, and some hypothetical chocolate factory. And I'm happy with that."
He leaned down to kiss me. "And I'm happy with you." I leaned my forehead against his. "How did this happen?"
"Well," I smiled, rubbing my thumb against his cheek. "I believe a certain boy blew me away with his charm..."
"Barely passed his exam but won a Quidditch match."
"We were so overjoyed we almost kissed."
"Then we did kiss." He pecked my lips.
I laughed softly. "And one thing led to another, and we somehow fell madly in love." He hummed, kissing me again. "I have a question."
"Yes, darling?" I leaned away to look at my hand where the ring he'd given me sat. He held my hand, running his finger over the diamond.
"Can I take your last name?" His finger froze on my hand.
"You want to take my last name?"
"I mean, only if you want. I just, I've never had the last name of someone who actually loved me, but I think I would like it. If that's not okay, I get it. I-"
"For Merlin's sake, Larissa, will you shut up for once so I can say yes?" he asked with an amused look on his face. I smiled, taking a deep breath. "Yes, darling, I would love it if you took my last name." I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him, moving so I was straddling his waist. His hands trailed up my legs to my lower back. A few moments later, I pulled away. "Does this mean I can call you Weasel now?"
I laughed. "In your dreams, Weasel." He smiled as I ran my hand into his hair. "I'm mad about you, George Weasley."
"And I you, future Larissa Weasley," he sighed. "Absolutely mad."
