It was two days of answering and skirting around questions about my new mate. My brother knew I was leaving certain details out, and Marv was aghast that I would still choose to return to the human. I couldn't help but find his terminology comical; I remembered referring to Owen in the same way, and I relished the thought of how far we had come.

However. Seeing how much Marv disapproved of my interactions with Owen, I refrained from telling Marv that I had mated him; he would surely lose his mind. And after two days in Avalon, I was exhausted. Thank all that is Fae, that when I returned to Earth, it was dark. I knew I could at least sleep a little before it was time to get up. I made it to the open window, and quickly landed on the mattress 12 inches beside Owen. My mind slipped into sleep seamlessly and I was out as fast as the light when Owen flipped the 'switch'.

The next morning seemed to come too quickly for me as I stretched largely with a matching yon and rolled onto my back, giving into the desire to keep my eyes closed a little longer. The mattress shook beneath me as the warmth of one of Owens quiet breathy chuckles tickled my skin. I smiled knowing he was lying next to me, laughing at my stretch.

I opened my eyes to see his handsome face was almost directly above me, his head propped up on his elbow beside me. "Good morning", he whispered over me. The breath of his words as warm and welcoming as the deep voice.

"M-h-m", I mumbled giving into the urge to stretch again. "Morning". My words were gruff through the stretch. When my stretch was done, I plopped my hands down next to my side, and looked to my feet, to see Owen's finger sliding up toward my hand.

My voice was tired as I watched the pad of his finger slip beneath my palm, "Meeks said dinner--Thursday".

"Thursday", He whispered and looked up to contemplate his schedule. "Thursday's good". He looked back down at me as his nose crinkled momentarily, twisting his features into a smile.

"Wha-at"? My cheeks started so glow pink under the adoring gaze.

His defense was as playful as the sparkle in his eyes, while he curled the finger beneath my hand ever so slightly, "What, I can't smile at you"?

"Nope", I played along giving him a mischievous smile. His eyes scanned my body as his smile faded into a soft grin. He removed his finger from my palm and he shifted his other arm to the other side of me. He pushed himself further below me on the mattress and held himself up on an elbow with an arm on either side of me, blocking me in.

I could hear his hand move across the sheet above me, before he brushed the top of my head tenderly with his thumb. I closed my eyes and tried to hide my smile as he leaned down to kiss me. I held my breath for only two seconds before the fluttering in my stomach became too much to handle in reaction to his lips.

"Owen", I girlishly giggled the lovely name as he kissed the middle of my body, my hands resting on the uppermost part of his top lip. When he pulled away, I felt the humid wind of his breath. It was only the second time he kissed me in Fae-form, and it made my heart burst open.

"What was that", I giggled and hid my smile under my fingers.

He played ignorant, "What was what"?

"That", I waved a hand and laughed mirthfully, my eyes squinting through a blush. "Did you just kiss me"?

The mattress quaked beneath me as he shrugged with a guilty grin. "So-what if I did? Did you not like it"? He asked smugly and then gently caressed my head again.

"Well, No-o—"

"—good", he whispered, and I turned my head to the side with a wild smile as pressed his lips against my face, then torso, before moving down to kiss my legs.
