In the Shinigami Realm

Rem stared down at the world silently. 

In the desolate realm, two Shinigami played a game of Pricks, basically like cards but with jagged bones Many other Shinigami sat on the rocks, rusting away slowly. 

'Hey, Rem.' One of the Shinigami sitting on the rocks said in a bored voice. 'What happened to that girl you liked?'

Another Shinigami burst into laughter, his whip like hair knotting. 'Not another one! Ha! Remember what happened to Gelus?'

Rem barely lifted her head away from watching the Human's World. 'It doesn't matter now. What's the point of living on in this ruin doing nothing all day when you could help prolong someone you love's life?'

They shook their heads. 'Ah, Rem. Another one dead. We're all going to die out soon one day.'

'Is life really that boring? Remember that idiot who got another Death Note from the Old Man? He chucked it to the Human World and became a human pet.'

Another Shinigami joined the conversation. 'I wonder what that guy was thinking.'

'I know right? It's not like Ryuk's cute or anything. Who'd want him as a pet?' 

'No, I meant what Ryuk was thinking.'

'I think he's pretty smart actually. He looks like he's having quite a lot of fun down there. In fact, I'm going to visit the Old Man myself and get another Death Note.' The one playing Pricks said.

'Midori! You crazy too?' But she had left already. The one with the whip like hair sighed. 'See? There's less of us now. Another one go down to the Human's World, and another dies. The King won't be happy.'

'Who cares about the Old Man?' Another Shinigami grumbled.

'I'd be careful what I say. They say the Old Man's always listening.'

'Bah. Are you going to die already, Rem? Come on, lessen our numbers again.'

Rem closed her eyes as she scratched the surface of her pen onto the rough Death Note pages: HAGEMI KWONTE.

KIRA SPECIAL: It has being two weeks since Kira had mysteriously disappeared. Many people believe Kira is just resting. Some people point out the death of another criminal, Hagemi Kwonte, the thief of the one million dollars, suggest Kira is back. The evidence is alarming, as the criminal was killed with Kira's signature heart attack. We will be back with reports if more criminals have died. This is Sakura TV.
