"Luke, look. One of the guard's son left some paper and pencils again." Jack smiled at his brother, handing him a sheet of paper and a pencil. "Yeah, Luke. You missed drawing didn't you? It's been a while since you last did." Ben grinned, getting a sheet of paper and a pencil for himself.
Luke smiled at his brothers. His brothers were the only hybrids that could speak, no one else could because it wasn't allowed and they didn't teach you how to, plus if you're caught speaking, you'll be gunned. That's why Ben and Jack have to be careful whenever they speak to each other.
"Wow little brother, you're getting really good at drawing. Mum and dad would've been so proud." Jack smiled sadly, looking down at his own artwork and adding details to it. "Mum and dad would've given you a shiny yellow star sticker." Ben chirped, pinching Luke's cheek softly.
Luke chuckled silently, directing his attention back to his drawing. His pretty daisy flower drawing.
Him and his brother's were in their cell. At least the Boss didn't separate them because that would've been very depressing. They were in a cage together, making sure that the other was at least okay because they know that they're not safe anymore.
"Okay, show your drawings!" Ben declared, raising up his artwork. Jack's sketch was an eye, it was really detailed and realistic. The eye has perfect long eyelashes curling at the end, the eyebrows arched over, showing that it was relaxed and neatly shaved while the pupils of the eye was blown, kind of like it's being shocked by something. There was a stream of tears flowing from the eye, making the pupil watery and the eyeball looked irritated, like it had been crying for hours and could not stop.
"This is my last memory of mum, this is my last memory on how her eyes looked like. She was crying when the people took us. All she did was cry before she had been shot in the head. It still haunts be everyday, I always imagined her to pass away on her bed as a really old and still sweet lady but no, she didn't." Jack said, his voice quiet and low. "I always liked her eyes the best. Dad always complimented her every day about it, and I always liked how they always glimmer even in the darkest days." he added.
Ben's drawing was a coconut tree with the ocean and the sunset as the background. The focus was on the coconut tree, the sculpted trunk, the crunchy leaves and the hairy coconuts. The sun was reflecting from the pools of water, giving it a nice glow. There was a stripped beach blanket on the sand, it was crumpled and underneath it was a wooden treasure chest peeking from the sand.
"Do you remember our trip to an island in Hawaii, little bro? Well while you were making sand castles with dad, me and Jack found this treasure chest buried in the sand. There was nothing in it but empty bottles but it still looked really cool so we decided to put silly jokes inside each bottle. Hoping one day that someone will find it and will make their day by reading the jokes. We buried the chest back underneath the sand and covered it with a blanket we found. This was our last family holiday and it was also one of the most happiest moments of my life."
Ben and Jack remember so much more than Luke. Luke was merely just a baby when they were all taken, that's why when he was injected with the serum for hybrids, his womb developed it and it allowed him to change into human or hybrid or feline form whenever he wanted, unlike his brothers who are stuck in their hyrbid form just like any other.
Somehow, drawing time always lead to opening up and remembering the past time. But Luke didn't mind, he actually liked learning his past. It gave him hope that he can be happy again.
"Don't worry, Luke. Someday we'll get out of here and we'll make sure you have loads of-." "Well what do we have here?" Jack got interupted by the big voice of the Boss.
Jack's face visibly paled and the Boss's smirk widened. "Jack Hemmings. You can talk? Well my dear boy you know that that's not allowed. Well there's only one solution for bad boys like you." Jack whimpered, making Ben grow furious. "Stop scaring him!" he yelled, then Ben's eyes widened, realizing at what he just did.
"Well then! Ben Hemmings can talk too? This is just delightful isn't it? Unfortunately, delightful things must end." the Boss said with a sinister smile, his eyes sparkling with craze. Then, he jumped forward, injecting Luke with a sleeping formula.
The last thing Luke heard was the screams of his brothers and the whole world slowly getting dimmer and dimmer.
"Luke, kitten?" Michael called, walking in the living room with a bowl of popcorn. Luke gazed up at Michael, his eyes once again dull and sad. He gave Michael a small smile and Michael knew that Luke had a memory flash again.
"You okay, princess?" Michael asked softly, scooting beside Luke and Luke instantly curled into him. "Lukey okay, misses brothers." he answered, sniffing the sweet scent of Michael. Michael nodded, kissing the top of Luke's head and placing the bowl on his lap. "What that?" Luke asked, the smell of the fresh kernels filling up his nostrils. "This is popcorn, Luke. You eat it, here try some." Michael suggested, Luke nodded, curling his hand so it formed into some sort of cup shape and stuffed his face with the popcorn.
"Mmmmh!! Is yummy Mikey!" he exclaimed, his eyes once again catching a glint of color. Michael smiled, loving the way Luke's eyes lit up whenever he found something he liked. "I'm glad you like it. Now shush, spongebob is showing soon." Michael chuckled quietly, turning his attention back to his tellie.
Luke smiled, pressing a kiss to Michael's cheek and paid attention to the yellow sponge who was blabbering away on the tellie.
:)
I just love Spongebob. Okay bye.
