Raelyn's POV
"So are you coming?" JJ asked, the group are all going to this summer bonfire but i kind of wasn't in the mood to get drunk and high, i wanted to just lay on my bed and ditch it. But i knew if i didn't i would probably miss out on a fight between a pogue and a kook.
And i loved a good old fight.
"Yeah sure i'll come" I replied, Pope then got up and made his way towards the door "where are you going?" Kie asked, "Well we better set up" He smiled. JJ got up while grabbing a huge bag full of plastic cups and followed Pope out the front door.
I grabbed the heavy boxes full of beer and began to make my way out, "Are you guys coming?" I asked John B and Kie, they seemed to be really interested in this compass thing. "We will come out in a bit, you guys go ahead and set up" John B replied, he didn't take his eyes of the compass once.
Although it was a little weird, i shrugged it off and left. I made my way towards the beach where the two boys where. They had already collected some sticks for what i assumed was going to be a huge bonfire.
"Did you bring the good stuff?" JJ asked, i lifted one heavy box higher in the air and Pope sent me a thumbs up, i put the boxes down on the sand next to all the cups. "Trust you boys to leave the heaviest thing for me to carry" I joked.
"yeah sorry about that" Pope replied with a wink, "Where are the others?" JJ asked with a confused expression. "Inside, John b said they would come out in a bit but i don't know where they are" I replied.
"Ah maybe the ship has sailed" JJ smirked, "Wait John B and Kiara?!" Pope gasped, "Probably Kie has been all like oh John B are you ok" JJ replied while mocking Kie's voice which made us all laugh.
The sun was setting which meant that the party needed to start soon, JJ added the finishing touched to the bonfire before grabbing a match and setting it a light.
Finally Ki and John B decided to show up after being inside doing things that we all thought they where, "How was your little alone time" JJ asked. They both looked confused but caught on to it very quickly after that.
"We were not we were just trying to work out the compass" Kie defended, "Yeah yeah" JJ laughed. After a few minutes people began to arrive and beer was given out to everyone, people also brought there own beer, well mainly the Kooks.
For the first five minutes everything was fine, JJ and i tried to down our beers at the same time and tried to finish at the exact same time but he went too quick so we failed. But soon the Cameron siblings turned up.
Sarah turned up with her annoying arse kook boyfriend Topper, and Rafe came with his annoying arse friends which included Topper to. They had brought their own beer which was expected from people like them.
Sarah was climbing things and Topper was telling her to get down, as usual. But we learned to keep our peace by ignoring each other so everyone can have a fun night. Well lets fast forward god knows how many beers since that's where the fun actually begins.
JJ was trying to keep me from going in the water to swim, "Rae you will drown, you are a mess" JJ shook his head. "No i am not" I slurred with a laugh. "I think we need to take you home" He offered.
"No its boring there, i wanna stay here" I groaned, "Fine but please don't try swim" JJ pleaded. I gave up on my need to go for a swim and walked back towards the crowd of dancing people. My vision was a tad blurred which made me trip a few times.
I could feel JJ still staring at me, probably making sure i didn't fall into the fire. Well as soon as JJ's stare went my foot fumbled and i almost crashed straight into the fire but i felt someone grab me.
My heart was racing, if this person hadn't of caught me i could of died the worst way possible. I turned to look at the hero only to be met by Rafe's face. "Woah thanks fuck face" I smiled still with a slur.
"no probs sunshine" He slurred back, shit he was drunk too. Two people who hate each other, both becoming very drunk isn't a good mix i know. "Yo i could have died" I gasped, he nodded "and i stopped that so i think that's good" He put one thumb up.
I had never seen Rafe like this before, like ever and he had never seen me like that before.
"Follow me" He made a delayed wave to follow him, i nodded and we walked towards a log. It was quieter and to be honest i had no idea of what was happening and he didn't either and to be fair it was quite nice not to be arguing.
He began to roll a cigarette, damn i had left mine with JJ at the start of the night. He lit it before smoking it. "Let me have a hit?" I asked, strangely he gave me it without a question and i began smoking it. "I didn't know you smoked" he smiled, wow Rafe smiling was something you don't see everyday. "Well you do know now" I replied, "don't smoke it's bad for you" He took the cigarette out my hands.
"But you smoke and why would you care?" I questioned, but my voice was more calm. "I smoke because it dosen't matter if I were to die, you don't smoke because you can't die and I won't allow that" he stated.
Before I could say anything he began speaking again.
"You know" he began, i turned my face towards him. "You're pretty hot for a Pogue" those words would be the only thing i would remember the next morning, "Cheers, you are alright for a Kook" I replied.
and then everything went black.
