Funerals are not for the dead but for the living. They are able to mourn their loved ones and reminiscent of who they were. Sometimes it's a way to show who really cared. Harry Clearwater had many people who cared. He lived a life well accomplished, with no great regret. He was able to pass on to the afterlife without a hitch.

After attending this funeral, Hailey realized that she hated them. There were weeping people everywhere. The atmosphere was awful as well. It was as if something was shackling her. Burdens that were not her own weighted upon her shoulders.

Hailey wanted to tell everyone that Harry Clearwater had moved on. This only regret is leaving his children but that is a burden any parent would feel. Harry accepted that. The only thing he wanted was for his family to be safe.

Hailey turned and looked over towards Sue Clearwater who had just been widowed. She stood besides her youngest son, Seth Clearwater. The eldest Clearwater child had ran off without a word after the priest had finished.

Other than the gray cloud that was over their heads, literally and figuratively, there was a different feeling in the air. It was one all to familiar to Hailey. Something was wrong. However, unless someone else drops dead right now she will remain respectful and not utter a word.

And so, they attended through the whole funeral and even some. Charlie had decided they would stay a while longer to offer the Clearwater family some support.

Hailey walked up to Seth and smiled up at him. She greeted him with a simple hi and a smile which Seth returned.

Hailey then pulled out a flower from her pocket, it was all squished, petals falling. "I had gotten this for you but..." she trailed off as she looked at the damaged flower.

Seth patted her head, "it's okay, it's very pretty."

With that the young Swan seem comforted by his words. Hailey reached her hand out, "want to pick flowers with me?"

He nodded and grabbed her small hand, letting her led the way. Together they walked around, Hailey stopped every once in a while to pick a flower and give it to Seth. That is how they spent their time, conversation was not needed. Hailey knew that Seth needed a moment to gather his thoughts and to mourn his father but also he needed some company, one that she was willing to provide.

After a while Charlie went to look for her, it was time to return and get some rest. That's when Hailey realized how tired she was. Seth patted her head and said his goodbye, she returned the favor by waving at him.

Once they were on Charlies cruiser, Hailey felt herself drift off to sleep. Before she fell asleep she felt Charlie pat her head making her smile.

When she woke up again she was in her room, it was eerily quiet. It was late but there was something out of place, as if something was missing. Standing up she walked out of her room and went to Bella's. It was empty.

"Belle?" She called out quietly before walking out and going down the stairs. There was Charlie with Jacob, it seemed as if they were in a deep conversation.

"Papa?" She called out. Charlie looked over towards her and opened his arms. Hailey walked over and let herself be held by her father. "Where is Belle?"

Charlie let out a sigh, seemingly tired. "I don't know where she went." Charlie responded, there was a hint of worry but most of all he was frustrated. Charlie knew he wasn't the best father and he never claimed to be. However, now that he has had his oldest daughter with him he realized that perhaps he was worse than he thought.

There was never a moment when Bella didn't rebel against him. First she had left him with the excuse of being tired of this small town. Then she acted as if someone died and refused to leave the town she had detested for years. Now she was even leaving with strangers to who knows where. At this point he wonders if Hailey will turn out like Bella.

"Will she come back?" Hailey looked visibly upset that her sister had left. Not at the fact that she had left her and her father but at the fact that she had changed. The Bella that she knew was like the mother she didn't have. Sure she had her mother but without Bella she would have raised herself.

Charlie patted her back, "I'm sure she will." With that said he gave her a smile. None of them were convinced. Jacob could see that but he decided against saying anything.

"Don't worry Charlie, I'm sure she will be back." Jacob gave him a smile and ruffled Haileys hair. The young girl smacked his hand away.

"Be nice Hailey." She pouted at her fathers words but did as told and let Jacob ruffle her hair some more. "Now, let's get you back to bed."

The older Swan carried Hailey and walked back to her room after excusing himself. Once they had entered he laid her down and tucked her in. With that done he bid her goodnight and walked out.

Hailey looked up at the ceiling, her mind was racing. Would her sister really come back? But most importantly, could she forgive her for leaving her father and her when they needed her.
