Tomorrow around noon, Meredith and Derek had to meet with the police. They needed another official statement from Meredith, and they needed to discuss baby Ellis. Meredith did not want to talk about the baby, but she wanted to find her so badly.
"It's gonna be okay, Mer." Derek said, reading her mind as he reached across the console and grabbed her hand.
"Okay." Meredith whispered as he pulled into the police station. Meredith's arm was slowly healing, so in about a week probably she would be able to use crutches instead of the wheel chair.
Her broken leg was also healing, but the ACL would take a lot longer. Derek helped her out and into the wheelchair and they went into the police station.
Derek Checked in and they were quickly taken to a private conference room. "Hi Dr Grey. I'm Officer Adam Jones. I talked with you in the hospital. This is Detective Stevens. He and his team have been working to find your baby, but we need more details." Officer Jones said kindly.
"Okay." Meredith said, trying to sound as confident as possible. "So, I need to you to tell me about everything. Start from the beginning when you found out about the baby." Officer Jones asked calmly.
"Uh, I f-found out I was p-pregnant when they did a blood test. I don't k-know why they did it. Derek and I...we're very , uh, active before everything." Meredith explained, blushing slightly.
"Okay. How was your pregnancy?" Jones asked. "Um, it was okay. Morning sickness was not fun, but it was okay." Meredith answered. "And the birth?"
"I had a placental abruption. They did get the baby out by a c section, but then they didn't stitch me up well after. I-I think I was bleeding for a few days after." She said.
"What did they do with the baby afterwards?"
"I got to hold her for 5 minutes. Then they-they took her away. I never saw her again." Meredith said, choking up.
"And what's her name?" Jones questioned. "Ellis Shepherd. A-after my mom." She answered, Derek holding her hand supportively.
"Okay. We're going to get your baby back. And we're going to find the people that did this to you. We've contacted the FBI as you said they worked for the government, so we'll give them this information. I promise you we'll get to the bottom of this." Jones said softly.
"Thank you." Meredith said quietly, squeezing Dereks hand.

They got home and went inside the house, where they were immediately bombarded by the kids. "Mommy! Can you play princess tea party like you used to with me?" Zola asked sweetly.
"Sure, zo." Meredith replied. She was so emotionally drained, but she spent three years without her kids. So she wasn't going to turn down the opportunity to play with them.
Derek helped her over to the little play table Zola had and she took a seat on the chair. Derek and his mom went to the kitchen to play. "You remember how to play, right?" Zola asked.
"I do." Meredith replied. Zola smiled and handed her mother a tiny tea cup. "What do you have?" Meredith asked, playing along.
"Tea, hot chocolate, and milk." Zola said professionally. "I'll have hot chocolate please." Meredith replied with a grin. She missed playing with her daughter so much.
"Here." Zola said, pouring the 'hot chocolate'. "Thank you, ms. Zo." Meredith said. Zola giggled and sat down too.
"I missed you playing with me, mama." The little girl said. Meredith smiled sadly. "I did too, baby. How about we go sit on the couch for a minute?" Meredith asked softly.
Zola nodded and hurried and sat down. Meredith hopped on one foot over and sat down as well. "Come here." She said opening her arms.
"I won't hurt you?" Zola asked hesitantly. "You won't." Meredith assured. Zola nodded and climbed into Merediths lap.
Zola pressed her face against merediths chest and smiled in content. "Love you, mama." She said softly. "I love you too, zozo." Meredith replied, holding Zola close.
Meredith felt tears prick at her eyes. She hasn't been able to hold her baby girl, her oldest child. It was an amazing mommy to reunite and have that connection again.
The events of the day had worn merefitn out, and she had fell into a light sleep. "Mama?" Zola asked, hearing the snores. Meredith didn't respond, and Zola just relaxed deeper into her embrace.
Zola also missed Meredith a lot. At such a young age, she didn't understand why she had left or where she went. But she did know that she missed her mommy. And now she got her back.

Derek came in to check on Meredith and Zola and he froze at the sight. Derek also had to keep his tears at bay of his wife and daughter cuddling together on the couch.
It was a bittersweet moment, though. The fact that Derek and Meredith had another daughter still shocked him. Zola and Bailey had another sibling.
Derek Shepherd wasn't just a father of 2 anymore. He was a father of 3. He had a beautiful two year old baby girl, that he didn't even know if she was safe or even alive. And that thought alone made him sick to his stomach.
Derek kissed Merediths forehead and Zola's head and smiled at his girls. "I love you both." He whispered before leaving the room again.
And now, they could only hope. Meredith was recovering, and the police and FBI were trying their best to get their daughter and catch the people who started this.
