Your eyes fluttered open. You were reclined on a couch, covered by a large blanket. You groaned in confusion, and looked around. You were in some sort of cave, but it was much cozier than you would've expected. Shelves full of books, jars and vials lined the walls. There was a decent sized desk across from you, littered with papers. What intrigued you though, was a large black book, sitting on the middle of the desk.
You picked it up and opened it. Taped to the inner cover was a well preserved cecilia. Flipping through the pages, you saw beautiful sketches of landscapes and flowers. You turned the page and saw a drawing of a hilichurl camp. But, their normally barbaric nature wasn't sketched, in fact, something about it made them seem less like monsters, and more like... people.
"As much as I appreciate you admiring my work, the oils from your fingers might stain the pages." A soft voice said from behind.
You jumped, and spun around. Standing near the cave entrance was was a man with fluffy blonde hair and piercing teal eyes. He was wearing a long white coat and gloves. His face and ears were slightly tinted from the cold outside; his eyelashes and hair were lightly dusted with snowflakes.
'Holy barbatos he's hot'
You shook your head lightly.
'Y/n what are you thinking! he could be attempting to kill you, and you don't even have a weapon!'
Your eyes narrowed, standing firm against the ground, ready to fight.
"Who are you?" you asked firmly but calmly.
He smiled slightly.
"You could call me your hero, but I suppose Albedo will do."
Your brows furrowed in confusion.
"My hero??-" you asked
"You're welcome" he responded with a light chuckle.
"What-"
"You were out cold in the snow, and even though studying human anatomy is important to understanding how we work, I'd rather have someone who willing donated their body to science, not a random girl outside." he said approaching the desk.
Then everything came back. Your commission..
"I could've survived" You lied, trying to keep your pride.
"You would've frozen to death if you stayed out there for another 5 minutes"
He began to pick up papers that had fallen off the desk.
"I'm sorry, it's difficult to address you without knowing your name." he said looking up at you.
"Y/n. My name is Y/n" you replied
"Y/n... what a pretty name." he said smiling softly
You could feel your face warm up, but before you could respond, he began to speak.
"Well, Y/n, you've been unconscious for about 6 hours. I think you should get ready to head back before people begin to worry"
Oh crap.. Katheryne
"As much as I enjoy spending time by myself, I'd rather not have to save you again, so I will accompany you back to Mondstadt for your safety."
"I can handle myself back"
"You couldn't even handle yourself on your way up here." he retorted.
"Fine." you sighed.
"Great, we'll start our way back when the sun rises again."
He smiled warmly,
and you couldn't help but to smile back...
