Frostbite (Albedo x fem reader)

Chapter 4

Walking down the crystal slopes, you looked up at Albedo. He looked almost ethereal against the snowy backdrop. Then he turned back to look at you.

"If you would like, i can carry your bags for you" he said kindly

you smiled but shook your head.

"I'm a claymore user, i've got this!" you responded as you flexed a muscle jokingly.

his eyes widened slightly.

"You use a claymore?" he asked, sounding a bit surprised.

" Yeah, it's a lot slower than a sword or spear, but i like the punch it packs!"

You began mimicking the motions of swinging a claymore, and he laughed and smiled at you.

"You seem really amazing"

You felt your face heat up.

You really weren't used to compliments

"Oh- um well-" you began stuttering, flustered at the sudden kindness. However, you weren't looking where you were stepping and slipped on ice.

You closed your eyes, expecting cold snow directly in your face, but instead found yourself directly against Albedo's chest. His arms tightened slightly around your waist.

Ba-dum ba-dum ba-dum

You could hear his heartbeat. It was almost melodic in contrast to the harsh winds around you. He was also welcomingly warm.

You looked up to see his face turned away from you.

"I'm extremely sorry.. I should've warned you about the ice but i didn't want you to fall either." His grip released as he helped you to stand up.

"Thank you." you replied warmly.

He bought a fist up to his face; coughing in order to cover it.

Was he... blushing??

"It's no problem, really." he quickly turned away from you.

And with that, you both continued walking again.
