Chapter 9
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄⊰❀

You follow him to where his car was parked and awkwardly entered the passenger side. You could only hope today goes well. Terushima starts the car.

"Put in the location", he says roughly.

You add the office's location into the GPS and lean back into the seat, putting on your seatbelt as the car pulled off.

The entire thirty-minute car ride went by in painful silence, one neither of you dared to break. The only time words were exchanged was when the car was pulling up to the building, and he asked 'Is this it?', which you responded to rather vaguely.

"You don't have to come in", you say to Terushima as you both step out of the car, him looking annoyed.

"I'm here aren't I? There's no reason for me to stay out here."

"Right..."

You both walk into the building in silence, keeping a bit of distance in between. This continued throughout the elevator ride and the entire waiting room duration.

Around fifteen minutes later, your name is called which you were grateful for. Another minute in that quietude and you would've surely gone mad.

Walking down the hall, Terushima a few steps behind you, you couldn't help but feel nervous. There was no doubt about it that you were pregnant, but you hoped that once the doctor checked you, it would turn out to be just a dream.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

You were seated on the exam table, while Terushima sat in a chair on the opposite side of the wall. Still, no words have been exchanged between you two. The only sound in the room came from the white paper you sat on, crinkling occasionally whenever you shifted your position.

You look around the room trying to ease your anxiety. On the walls, you see a few posters which your eyes scan quickly, until you reach one about pregnancy for expecting mothers, which sent your nerves into turmoil once again. You knew you had a choice to make soon.

Finally, the doctor walks in.

"Y/n, it's good to see you again", your doctor greets you. "Hi, how are you?", she says turning to Terushima who didn't reply and looked emotionless.

During the time, the doctor asked you many questions, such as 'when was your last period', 'what's your medical history', 'what's your family history', 'any illnesses', and so forth.

She conducted a regular check-up and drew some blood from you first to make sure everything was fine.

"You said your last period was when?"

"I'm not completely sure", you answer. "Either the third or fourth of this month."

She hums.

"It lasted about two days which has never happened to me. I didn't think much of it since my periods are always abnormal."

"Most likely it wasn't a period. It was implantation bleeding."

You smiled and nodded as if you had any idea what she was talking about.

"It occurs when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterus lining", she continues seeing your confusion.
