Chapter 15
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄⊰❀

"Absolutely not", you retort.

"I knew you'd react like this."

"Then why bring it up? No offense, but I can't live with you. And we're not even a couple."

"Let me finish", he says taking a seat on one of the bottom stairs. "You live on the opposite side of campus from me. What if something happens and I'm not nearby and don't get to you in time."

"You make it seem like I'm a kid", you say sitting at the top of the steps rolling your eyes.

"As I was saying, I think it'll be good for us. It's free too. Think about it. What if you call me for whatever reason and you need help? That's like a ten, fifteen-minute wait. It'll only be for the next two years until we graduate."

"What makes you think I'll agree to that?"

"It's the same as living in a dorm. Or if you don't like that idea, we can get an apartment. There are some for sale like fifteen minutes off-campus that aren't too expensive. If you want we can look for one and go half. You were always at my house when we were together. Just think of it like that. Without the actually being together part."

"Maybe you do have a point", you begin, "But how would that even work?"

"I don't know yet. Does this mean you agree?"

"Let me think about it."

"How long will that take?"

"A couple days or weeks maybe. I'll let you know before we go back though."

"Alright. Do you have anywhere to stay tonight? You can stay at mine."

"It's alright. I'll stay here for the weekend. Atsumu already offered me somewhere in case."

SUNDAY, JUNE 22

There's a knock on your bedroom door. You were in the middle of stuffing clothes in a bag. It was pretty obvious who it was, seeing as she was the only other person you lived with.

"Come in."

Your mother stands in the doorframe.

"If you're here to remind me I have to leave, don't worry. I'll be out soon."

"No, that's not it..." She walks in and stands near the end of your bed. "I thought about it and it wouldn't be fair of me to kick you out just because you made a mistake."

Too late for that now.

"You can stay here and I'll raise the baby as my own once it's born."

"What? No, you can't do that."

"Y/n, you know nothing about raising a baby. It's hard work and you're not cut out for it."

"And you are? You were younger than me when I was born."

You never usually talked back to your mom as there was no point. She'd never listen. She was the one you got your ignorance from after all.
