❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄⊰❀

Author's Note: Hey lmao... Y'all I know i haven't been updating this book much anymore which i apologize for. I just haven't had much motivation for it and feel like it's getting uninteresting. I'm not discontinuing it though so bare with me please if you haven't dropped this already <3

You looked back at your phone screen, just to make sure what you were reading was correct. It was unfortunately. 'I'd like to see you if that's okay with you.'

Your mother wanted to see you. Now, after all this time, after she 'supposedly' kicked you out and suggested you get an abortion.

You didn't answer her last message after all. Meeting up with her could either go one of two ways. One, she regrets acting the way she did and wants to make it up to you, or two, she'll scold you on how you're ruining your life and tell you everything you're doing is wrong.

The first one was pretty realistic in her case. Knowing full well how she is, it was probably the latter. You turned your phone off for the rest of the night.

THE NEXT DAY:
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25

The next morning you woke up and turned your phone back on. Thankfully that was the last message you received from her. For the day at least. That was until she called you.

I don't have time for this shit, you thought.

Acting as if you never saw the call, you get yourself ready for classes.

"I'm so huge", you mumble looking at yourself in the mirror.

You couldn't wait to get this baby out of you. You still had another three or so months to go and that time couldn't come by any faster.

The classes for today went by excruciatingly slow. After you were finished for the day, you met up with Atsumu. You really needed some new friends. He was the only person you hung out with and you were sure he had better things to do, but he stayed with you anyway.

"So then, I told her to... Hello?" Atsumu snaps his fingers in front of your face. "Are you even listening to me?"

"Oh, sorry", you mumble facing him. "What we're you saying? I zoned out."

"What's up? You look like you're in deep thought."

"My mom texted me last night", you tell your friend. "She said she wanted to see me, and I'm just... I don't know. I'm confused."

"What did you tell her?"

"I never answered of course. What would I even say? I can't just ignore her."

"Didn't you tell me you wanted nothing to do with her?"

"Yeah but... I don't know okay? It's not like I hate her, but she's said a lot of things to me and I don't know if I can just move past it so easily."

"I don't blame you. No offense, but your mother's mean as hell. She hated me."

"You're right about that. None taken. That woman still finds a way to stress me out even when I'm miles out of town."

BACK AT HOME

Your phone rang once, then twice. You didn't even have to check it to know who was calling you. All you wanted right now was peace and quiet. Best case scenario, she starts to think you're busy and just gives up. But your phone rang a third time. There was no ignoring that.

You would much rather have to deal with Yūji's persistence than hers right now. Still, you answered. You couldn't ignore her forever. You sigh, taking your phone in your hands and accepting the call.

"Hello?", you say though you wished you hadn't picked up. You weren't ready to speak to her or hear her voice again.

"Hello Y/n", says your mother's voice on the line. "I've been trying to reach you since last night. You hadn't responded to my message so I wasn't sure what happened."

Fuck.

"Oh, were you? I didn't know. My phone's been acting up for a while now. I need to get that fixed soon." You chuckle nervously.

You were lying through your teeth. But whatever. She seemed to have fell for it. At least she was gullible.

"That's alright."

"Okay... Well uh, I have another class in a few so I gotta go-"

Another lie. Your mother cut you off as you were finishing your sentence. "Wait, before you hang up, I'd like to ask when you'll be free."

"Oh. Can I ask why?" Of course you already knew why.

"I should've known you'd be hesitant", the woman on the phone responds, picking up on your uneasiness. "I don't blame you", she sighs.

"Yeah... Well you know, classes are really draining. Plus I have tons of homework and assignments to catch up on. So you know, not much time to myself."

You weren't completely lying. You did have some work to do.

"Can I uh... Can I get back to you on that? Like I said, classes and other stuff."

"Oh, that's fine", she trailed off. You could've sworn you heard a bit of hurt in her voice. As if that was possible.

"Yeah, so... Bye." You hang up and put your phone facing down on the couch cushion beside you. You lean back and groan.

"What's wrong with you?", Yuji asks walking through the door that same time.

"I think my mother might just be worst than you."

"What's that supposed to mean?", he questions.

"It's not that hard to figure out. She can't take a hint is what I meant. I thought you were smarter than that, but I guess not."

"You don't like me being persistent?"

"It's annoying, I told you that."

THAT NIGHT

You had been overthinking this whole thing for the most part. You wanted to forget it, but it was hard. It's kind of late for her to start playing the role of a loving mother, you thought to yourself.

It's not like you were planning on forgiving her. But you at least wanted to... talk things out? At least be on better terms.

You
i'm free during the weekends if you still want to meet up.

What's the worse that could happen?
