Her eyes were puffy, and a single tear rolled down her cheek. He had never seen her cry before. Ever.

Misaki turned back around and stood up, grabbing her jacket from the floor. Before she could take a step forward, Chuuya quickly reach over and grabbed her hand. "Wait." He said. Misaki stopped, and turned back around to face him.

He opened his mouth to speak up, but he wasn't sure what to say. He had spent so long thinking of things to say to her of he ever saw her, but now that she was here, he couldn't say a single word. "Hi." She said.

"Hi." Chuuya said back. "It's been a while."

Misaki nodded, then looked down at the floor. Chuuya did the same. The air around them was just so awkward. "After so long I finally get to see you, but I can't even say anything." He laughed awkwardly.

Misaki looked down at their hands. He used his thumb to rub the back of her hand. She could feel his warmth once again. She missed this feeling so much.

"You're hair is shorter." He said. "It looks beautiful." Chuuya complimented.

"Thanks." Misaki said, smiling awkwardly. "And your hair is a lot longer. It looks good on you." She said awkwardly.

"Huh, oh yeah."

"And I see you haven't grown much." She teased.

"I could say the same thing about you." He smiled. He watched Misaki's smile slightly grow. But disappear soon after.

He frowned. That small smile wasn't the same one she had four years ago. The energy that came from it was so sad. He could clearly see that she wasn't happy.

Misaki saw his frown, but wasn't sure what to think of it. Was he unhappy to see her? Did he resent her for leaving? What does he think of her now?

Misaki pulled her arm away and grabbed the umbrella from the floor, opening it back up. "I should go." She said. "This is a mistake." Her voice was quivering. She turned back around and started heading in the other direction.

"What, wait!"

"Chuuya." She said. Both stopped in there tracks. Chuuya looked at her with a sad face. Misaki bit her lip to prevent herself from crying. But a single tear rolled down her cheek. Chuuya could see her body shaking. He slowly reach over for her hand. "I can't." She muttered, covering her mouth with her hand. He pulled his hand back.

She soon left, leaving Chuuya all alone. The rain continued to pour, but even stronger. Chuuya stopped caring at that point. He kneeled down to the floor and clenched the grass. The tears began to fall, landing in the grass and as well as his hand. Chuuy looked up, and saw the headstone reading Odasaku's name.

It was no wonder why she was so sad. Why she wasn't happy anymore.

Chuuya questioned to himself of whether or not Misaki needs him anymore or not. Maybe it would be best if Chuuya just stayed away. Maybe then Misaki would be happy again. Maybe it would come to a point where she would forget about Chuuya and find someone else. Maybe she already has.

That's all Chuuya really wanted. For Misaki to be happy. That's all he ever wanted for her. Even if it was with someone else. Or even if it meant he'd have to live hurting.

"Would things till be different if you were alive?" He asked himself, as he looked over at the headstone. "Probably."

People stared at her as she walked with her head down. Her hands were shaking still. And the tears wouldn't stop. She was hoping to have gotten over him. But despite the fact that it had been four years since then, she still wasn't.

She still missed him. She still loved him.

Though it took a while, Misaki finally made it home. She opened the door and saw that all the lights were still off. She was relieved to know Dazai wasn't home yet.

She dropped her things on the floor and left to her room. She sat on the edge of her bed and tightly hugged herself. But no sound came out.

She lifted her head back up and looked across the room. She hated going in there. And though it never made the pain disappear. She never felt it.

Dazai opened the door to the house and put his things on the counter. "Misa-chan, I ran into your grandparents on the way here. They gave me some mochi of you want to eat some. Taste pretty good."

After not receiving a reply, he assumed that she probably wasn't home yet. But he then spotted her jacket and umbrella on the floor. He went into her room, but she wasn't there. It came to his conclusion that she was probably in the closet, but he didn't want to believe it.

He slowly walked over and opened it up. She sat on the floor, leaning against the wall. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying. Her cheeks stained from the dried up tears.

It saddened Dazai to see her like this again. He hated it. He hated how much she was hurting.

He kneeled down and sat next to her, wrapping his arm around Misaki and pulling her closer. "I'm guessing you don't want to talk about it?" He asked.

Misaki shook her head. "I cried enough today. I'm too tired for that again." She muttered, slowly closing her eyes.

"Then let's just stay here for now. Until you feel better."

"Thanks."
