Had to unpublished the chapter and edit a few things. But here it is again. Hope you enjoy.

"Is everything going alright?"

Dazai turned around and spotted Misaki walking up to him. She took a seat next to him and grabbed an earpiece and as well as a mic.

"It's hectic. Akutagawa's with Atsushi at the moment, so who knows how that'll end." Dazai said.

"Seems to me like you already know."

Dazai gave a small smirk. "You might just judge me for what I'm about to do?" Dazai turned the mic back on, listening through the conversation the two rivals were having. "Oh dear. Akutagawa-kun still has a terrible habit of going solo. All right. Atsushi-kun, we don't have time to deal with him. Let's move on."

"But..."

"Don't worry. Just do as I say, and you'll make it. Hand the earpiece to Akutagawa-kun." Dazai commanded.

"Understood." Atsushi followed.

As Atsushi was about to hand Akutagawa the intercom, Dazai hung up. Misaki scoffed. "That's a bit harsh."

"I figured you would judge me for it." Dazai smirked. He looked back at Misaki, and his smile fell. "How are you feeling?" He asked.

Misaki stared down at her hands. She could still fell Chuuya's touch, his warmth, all over herself. It still felt like his lips wet in hers. She could still fell his small kisses all over her neck. It wouldn't go away. She wanted it to go away. It was tearing her apart.

"I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me." Misaki assured.

Dazai let out a small sighed. It hadn't been that long ago that he was at the bar with Chuuya. And he couldn't let go of the conversation the two had. "Say, what do you think you'd be doing if things ended differently?" He asked.

"Sorry?" Misaki questioned.

"What if you and Chuuya were still together? What if the Mafia never happened? What if Odasaku was still alive? Have ever thought about what life would be like right now if everything that happened didn't?" He asked.

Many times. Hundreds of times. Thousands of times. Almost everyday for the last four years. "Yes." She answered honestly. "All the time."

She looked back up, but not at Dazai. But rather at the computer screens shining brightly at her face. She wasn't sure if she could look at anyone, worried that she might break down crying.

"You wouldn't mind telling me, would you?"

Misaki scoffed, and shook her head. "The orphans would be in school, and I'd go visit them as much as I could. Odasaku would have his own home right by the beach, just like he wished. I'd would visit him everyday, and bring the with the kids with me if I could, and I'd relax next to him while he's writing his book. Just like now, I'd have you by my side, as always." Misaki smiled.

Dazai let out a small laugh. "And how would you know that? I probably would've have committed suicide."

Misaki shook her head. "I just know so." She smiled. She leaned her head back on the chair and closed her eyes. "And as for Chuuya, he and I would have our own home. We would come back from whatever we were doing that day, lay down next to each other, and talk all day long. And I would be happy."

Dazai's face saddened as he looked down at his lap.

"Thats what I'm always thinking of. But realization always hits me. I can't have any of those things. Not Odasaku. Not Chuuya. Not even my happiness. The universe loves seeing me so miserable. And these past few weeks have been the most miserable I've ever been."
