Chapter 20: Brighter Side

Amy and Ty walked into Katie's room and tapped Lyndy on her shoulder.

Lyndy immediately turned her hearing aids back in.

"I'm in trouble, aren't I?" She Asked.

"Well, that depends on why you turned your hearing aids off when Katie was talking to you,"  said Ty.

"She didn't want to play with me and was complaining about it, so just stopped listening," said Lyndy

"Why didn't you want to play with her, Katie ?" Asked Ty.

"Because she's boring,"  said Katie.

"I'm getting out of here before I murder somebody," said Amy.

" what's up with her? " Asked Katie.

" she's like super sick," said Ty.

" I wish Luke were here. He'd play with me," said Lyndy.

Luke thinks you're boring and annoying," said Katie

Lyndy ran out it of Katie's room crying.

"Uncalled for,"   said Ty angrily before going to check on Lyndy.

10 minutes later.

"Why does Katie have to be so mean?" Asked Lyndy through tears.

" she's getting older and thinks being mean makes her look cool," said Ty.

well, it doesn't,"  said Lyndy, still crying.

"I know, honey," said Ty softly.

"Does Luke think I'm boring?" Asked Lyndy sadly.

"No, he doesn't," said Ty.

"Can we call him?" Asked Lyndy.

"You need him to say it? Asked Ty.

Lyndy nodded.

" Okay, we can call him," said Ty.

minutes later.

Ty walked into his and Amy's room.

He laid down beside Amy.

"Where's Lyndy?" Asked Amy.

"Talking to Luke," said Ty.

"Oh, he called?" Asked Amy.

"No, she called him," said Ty.

"Aww, that's sweet," said Amy.

"I want to kill Katie, though," said Ty.

"Me too," said Amy.

"What a crappy day," lamented Ty.

"Hey, look on the bright side," said Amy.

"What would that be?" Asked Ty.

"She is your daughter,"  said Amy smiling.

Ty laughed and kissed Amy's head.
