The Bad Batch: Gargoyles

Chapter Three - A Chance Encounter

As the Metropolitan Museum of Art was attacked by Jackal and Hyena, Hunter along with Omega and Tech found themselves in a tricky situation. 

Hunter: This is bad, Tech. Whoever these scumbags are, we can't let them get that sword!

Omega: What are we going to do?!

Hunter: Tech and I will handle this. You stay behind out of sight! 

With that, Hunter and Tech got out of cover while Omega stayed behind cover. The two Clone Commandos pulled out their blaster pistols and confronted Jackal and Hyena. 

Hunter: Stop right there! 

Jackal: Look at this, Hyena. Two rent a cops. 

Hyena: You two got a lot of guts confronting us like that. Too bad it won't do you any good.

Hunter: We'll be taking that sword now. 

Jackal: I'm afraid that's not an option. This sword is worth a lot of money to us. Tell me, do you two really want to die for some trinket?

Tech: Fighting us won't do you any good. I suggest you two drop the sword and walk away. 

Hyena: Enough of this! Let's just kill them! 

Without warning, Hyena pounces on Hunter and attacks him. Tech was able to fire his blaster pistols at Jackal, but he evades the shots and closes the distance on Tech. Meanwhile, Hunter fights off Hyena's assault as he pushes her off him and gets his vibro-knife ready. 

Hyena: I see you like to fight up close and personal. Well so do I!

Hyena then attacks Hunter with her razor sharp gloves as she cackles. Hunter's military training allowed him to fend off Hyena's assault. At the same time, Tech was able to hold off Hyena's assault. 

Jackal: You're going through a lot of trouble to protect this trinket. I doubt the museum is paying you good money. 

Tech: I'm afraid you're mistaken. 

Tech then fires off his blaster pistols at Jackal, but Jackal knocks the blaster pistols out of Tech's hands and lands a nonlethal slash on his chest. 

Jackal: It seems the museum will have a mess to clean up. 

As Tech defends himself against Jackal, Hunter begins to gain the upper hand on Hyena. 

Hunter: You're done here. 

Hyena: I wouldn't be too sure about that!

Hyena then blindsides Hunter and kicks him to the ground. She then pounces on him and holds her claws against Hunter's throat. 

Hyena: Time to die!

As Hyena prepares to kill Hunter, Omega sees this. 

Omega: Hunter!

Without hesitation, Omega readies her energy bow. She takes aim and fires a shot at Hyena, landing a shot on her shoulder. This gives Hunter the opportunity to fight back Hyena's advances. Hyena screams in pain as she spots Omega.

Hyena: You little bitch!

Hyena moves to attack Omega, but Hunter moves in and attacks her. He puts her in an armlock and proceeds to break her arm. Hyena was able to fend off Hunter's attack. 

Hyena: I'll fucking tear you to shreds!

Hunter: Give it your best shot!

???: Freeze! 

The fight was interrupted by officers of the NYPD. As the officers had their guns trained on Jackal and Hyena as well as Hunter and Tech, Jackal turns to his sister. 

Jackal: This just got more interesting. 

Jackal then pulls out two grenades and throws them at the officers. The resulting explosion forces the officers to take cover. 

Jackal: Time to make our escape, Hyena!

Hyena: Not after I slash that little bitch's throat! 

Jackal: I'm afraid your petty revenge will have to wait. We're on the clock and time is of the essence. 

With that, Jackal and Hyena made off with the Sword of Beowulf. As the two criminals got into their getaway vehicle, Hunter grabs his blaster pistol and shoots at the car. He manages to shoot out their tires, causing them to lose control of the car and crash into a building. 

Hunter: Tech! Let's go!

Wasting no time, Hunter and Tech rushed to the car with Omega not far behind. As they rushed for the car, Hunter contacts Echo. 

Hunter: Echo! This is Hunter! We ran into some trouble! Get the Marauder at these coordinates! 

Echo(Comlink): On it, Hunter. 

Hunter: And keep the cloaking device active! 

Meanwhile on Liberty Island, Echo and Wrecker get in the Havoc Marauder and begins making it's way to the coordinates Hunter sent them. Meanwhile, Hunter and Tech reach the car just as Jackal and Hyena were getting out of the car with the Sword of Beowulf. 

Hunter: We'll be taking that sword now. 

Jackal: You're quite resourceful for rent a cops. It's almost a pity that we have to kill you. 

Hyena: The key word being almost. 

Tech: I wouldn't do anything rash if I were you. The chances of you winning this battle are not in your favor. 

Jackal: We like to live on the edge. 

Hunter and Tech readied themselves for another fight with Jackal and Hyena. Omega hid behind cover as she kept her energy bow ready. 

Hyena: I'll enjoy ripping you two to shreds! After that, I'll find that bitch who shot me and make her bleed!

Hearing Hyena threaten Omega's life enraged Hunter as he tightly gripped his vibro-knife. Suddenly, the cloaked Havoc Marauder flies above the area. Echo and Wrecker jump out with their weapons ready. 

Wrecker: This ought to be fun!

But as Wrecker said this, the group of Gargoyles known as the Manhattan Clan arrive at the scene. Their leader Goliath turns to both the Bad Batch as well as Jackal and Hyena. In that moment, the Bad Batch found themselves confronted by the Gargoyles of the Manhattan Clan.
