The Bad Batch found themselves caught in the middle of a conflict they had no knowledge of. What makes this more complicated was that both the Gargoyles and the duo of Jackal and Hyena would no doubt be gunning for them. As it became clear that a fight was inevitable, Hunter signals the rest of the Bad Batch to form up around him. Goliath soon confronted the Bad Batch as well as Jackal and Hyena.
Goliath: Your mayhem ends here. Make it easy on yourselves and stand down.
Jackal: Tempting, but no dice.
Echo: Hunter, I hope you got a plan.
Hunter: Maintain a tight defensive position. Something tells me things are about to get intense.
Tech: That would be an understatement.
Wrecker: Well what are we waiting for?! Let's get this show on the road!
As Wrecker said this, Hyena pounced on Wrecker's back and began clawing at him, but his armor was able to protect him. In that moment, chaos had broken out with the Bad Batch fighting the Gargoyles as well as Jackal and Hyena. Wrecker was able to fight Hyena off and body slams her to the ground. Immediately after that, Wrecker is tackled by Brooklyn.
Brooklyn: The bigger they are, the harder they fall!
As Brooklyn wrestles with Wrecker, Wrecker gains the upper hand and puts Brooklyn in a chokehold, but is soon attacked by Bronx. Meanwhile, Tech and Echo found themselves facing off against Hudson and Lexington. As Tech and Echo fired on the Gargoyles, Lexington was amazed at the tech they were using.
Lexington: Look at that tech! I've never seen anything like it!
Hudson: Focus, lad!
As Hudson and Lexington dodged the blaster fire, Tech used his specialized visor to map out their movements. After doing so, he speaks to Echo.
Tech: 45. Mark 151.
Echo: 45. Mark 151.
Tech and Echo prepared two sonic grenades. They then throw them towards the Gargoyles. As the grenades detonated, they released a powerful sonic shockwave which knocks the Gargoyles out of the sky. The Gargoyles were able to get back up on their feet and attack the Clones. In the midst of this chaos, Hunter attempts to go after Jackal to claim the Sword of Beowulf, but Goliath intervenes.
Goliath: You're not getting away that easily.
Hunter: Listen to me. I'm not your enemy.
Goliath: Thant remains to be seen.
In that moment, Hunter found himself locked in combat with Goliath. The Gargoyles were fully focused on their fight against the Bad Batch. Seeing an opportunity, Jackal speaks to Hyena.
Jackal: I think it's time we got out of here.
Hyena: Not until I tear apart those rent a cops! Not to mention the little bitch who shot me!
Jackal: Now's not the time for your bloodlust. In case you haven't realized, those rent a cops are keeping the Gargoyles busy and we have our prize. Now let's go before we lose our opportunity.
With that, Jackal and Hyena began making a run for it with the Sword of Beowulf. Hunter spots this and attempts to run after them, but is quickly grabbed by Goliath.
Goliath: There's no escaping. Do not make this harder on yourself.
Hunter then reaches for his vibro-knife and attacks Goliath. Goliath responds by grabbing Hunter by the throat and begins to beat him down. Hunter quickly realizes that a head on fight against Goliath was a losing fight. Hunter begins to fall back on his Commando training by attempting to outmaneuver the Gargoyle, but this proved to be a losing effort as Goliath overpowered him. As all this happened, Omega watched from her hiding place. She could see that Hunter was in danger. From her perspective, it seemed as if Goliath was about to kill Hunter. It was at this moment that Omega dashed out of her hiding spot and ran right into the chaos. At the same time, Elisa Maza had arrived on the scene.
Elisa: Hey, kid! Stop!
Elisa's warnings fell on deaf ears as Omega ran straight into the chaos. Meanwhile, Goliath had overpowered Hunter and brought him down.
Goliath: You fought valiantly, but it is over. Stand down.
Despite this, Hunter remained defiant as he slowly got up, gripping his vibro-knife. Goliath's face remains expressionless.
Goliath: So be it.
As Goliath moves to attack Hunter, Omega gets between Hunter and Goliath. Goliath pauses and looks on as Omega steps in to defend Hunter.
Omega: Don't hurt him!
As Omega steps in to defend Hunter, Goliath takes a moment to process the scene. It was clear to the Gargoyle leader that Hunter meant something to Omega. He then looked around the battlefield to see his fellow Gargoyles locked in conflict with the rest of the Bad Batch. They way the Bad Batch fight was more or less similar to the way the Gargoyles fought. He could also see the camaraderie shared by the Bad Batch. As Goliath glanced back to Omega, he spoke to Omega.
Goliath: Do you care for him, little one?
Omega: Y...yes....
As Omega answered Goliath's question, he came to a decision.
Goliath: Gargoyles! Stand down!
The rest of the Manhattan Clan followed Goliath's command and stops fighting. The rest of the Bad Batch quickly read the scene and stops fighting as well.
Goliath: Perhaps these strangers mean us no harm. Let us speak elsewhere.
In that moment, the fighting between the Bad Batch and the Manhattan Clan had ended. The chaos of the fight allowed Jackal and Hyena to escape with the Sword of Beowulf, causing a major setback to the Bad Batch's job to recover the Sword of Beowulf for Cid.
