As the train started slowly pulling into Hogwarts, Y/N looked out of the train window to see the night sky starting to take over the cloudy daylight. She missed Hogwarts. Pansy put her sketchbook in her handbag and sat next to Y/N who was looking through her own handbag for some chocolate frogs.

"You want one?" Y/N said towards Pansy who happily took one chocolate frog, "for some reason Shan put a lot in my bag" Y/N said as she saw three more chocolate frogs.

The train came to a full stop and the hallway became crowded with students trying to get out and onto the carriages to take them into Hogwarts. Y/N pulled Pansy's hand through the crowd before stepping onto the train platform and finding the carriages waiting for the students near the exit.

Their luggage and belongings were being carried and placed into their own carriage to be put students dormitories. Pansy pulled Y/N into one of the less crowded carriages and they looked out the small window during the five-minute journey up to the Hogwarts castle. The carriage pulled into the big gold gates of Hogwarts and dropped the students off to get their luggage checked by the Hogwarts security. Y/N tightened her tie and fixed her socks as her and Pansy got off the carriage and walked into the big doors of the Hogwarts castle, they walked towards the great hall as Dumbledore was ready to welcome everyone back for another school year. They walked into the great hall to see most students already settling in on their house tables, Pansy pulled Y/N's hand towards the Slytherin table and they sat next to each other. Y/N took the chance to look at everyone coming in and saying hello to their friends, and looking at the professors all sitting at the front tables watching over everyone. Y/N noticed her father talking with Hagrid before she caught his eye as he smiled at her and she smiled back.

Y/N fixed her shirt under her robe before the great hall started becoming quiet and Dumbledore was stood at the podium. "Welcome to another year at Hogwarts, I am so happy that everyone has chosen to continue their studies with us" Dumbledore started saying before Pansy leaned towards Y/N. "He's looking at you again" Pansy whispered and Y/N looked towards her right side to see Draco staring at her before he turned his attention to Dumbledore. Y/N didn't think anything of it as she turned her own attention back to what Dumbledore was saying.

"I would to welcome a new member of staff before we get the first year students sorted into their houses" Dumbledore said and a man stood up. "Remus Lupin will be the new professor for Defence Against the Dark Arts this year" Dumbledore continued and everyone clapped for the man who waved to everyone. "Great, another crazy man" Draco whispered and Y/N turned to him and opened her mouth in shock. "I thought the other two were very entertaining" Y/N said and Draco shook his head at her while looking down at the empty plate in front of him.

After all the first year students got sorted into their houses, the feast began and everyone was happy to see the food appear before their eyes. Everyone dug into their food, "do you think this year your father will be nicer in potions?" Crabbe asked Y/N. "If you are well behaved he might spare you losing house points for his own house" Y/N replied making most people on the table laugh. "You know I wonder if we will miss this place when we leave" Pansy said as she saw Dumbledore talking to Professor McGonagall. "Does your father ever talk about his years he attended Hogwarts?" Crabbe asked Y/N, "he never really told me about his years here just that he studied and did good" Y/N said and Draco looked towards her. "Father talks about how he was always the Slytherin Prince" Draco said and Y/N looked towards him. "Now that is something I never hear the end of" Y/N said and Draco looked confused. "What's that suppose to mean?" Draco said and Y/N laughed with Pansy, "someone took in his father's footsteps Mr Draco Malfoy, the Slytherin Prince" Y/N said and Draco shook his head. "Yeah but no one can beat you" Draco said, "Slytherin Queen" Pansy whispered towards Y/N. "I just don't go rubbing it in people's faces" Y/N said as her and Pansy stood up to walk to their dormitory. Draco looked at both the girls who walked out of the great hall, "she's got you whipped" Blaise said and Draco slapped his arm. "I'm not whipped thank you very much" Draco said as he went back to eating his food.

"Sorry" Y/N said as she sat on the couch in Slytherin's common room next to Draco who was reading one of the school books, "it's fine darling" Draco said not looking up from the book. Y/N pulled her robe tighter over her pyjamas and looked at the other students playing games with each other on one of the tables. "I don't want you to think I'm trying to be mean Draco and embarrass you in front of our friends" Y/N said and turned her body towards Draco who put the book down and looked to the other couch opposite them. "I don't care Y/N, I know you don't mean what you say" Draco said as he looked into Y/N's eyes, "it's true though, I do rub my title in front of people who don't respect me" Draco continued and Y/N giggled to herself. "Your father would be very proud of you" Y/N said and Draco shook his head and started playing with his rings, "well I know for a fact father is proud that I got into Slytherin our first year here" Draco said and closed his book. Draco's father was one of the pureblood wizards who wanted to keep pureblood people like Draco and Y/N in his close circle. He would have been disappointed if Draco was sorted into a different Hogwarts house as all of the Malfoy families have been in Slytherin since they could remember, unfortunately it has been the same with the Snape family.

"I'm happy that we both were able to become friends instead of attending Hogwarts separately" Y/N said and Draco smiled at her. "You know I never see you smile the way you do when you're with me" Y/N said breaking Draco's concentration on her, "I only smile the way I do because I know you are someone I can trust, you know my family and what it means to be a part of the rich wizards" Draco said and looked down at his rings.

"You want to know a secret?" Y/N said after a few moments of silence between the two making Draco raise his eyebrow at her. "When I first attended Hogwarts I thought you were going to ditch me for some senior girl" Y/N said making Draco laugh. Draco smiled as he was starting to think about the past two years at Hogwarts, how Y/N and him always spent time studying or hanging out with their friends. They were close due to their families but Draco believed that they were also close for other reasons not known to the both of them yet. "Was that really the secret?" Draco asked Y/N and looked into her eyes, "kind of, my mother had told me that she liked your smile once and I never knew what she was talking about " Y/N said and Draco felt warm inside as he looked at Y/N who had a stray tear falling down her cheek. He wiped it away and pulled Y/N to hold her against his chest, Y/N inhaled Draco's expensive cologne and felt safe in his arms. "Your mother always told me she liked seeing me smile because it reminded her of when her brother was younger" Draco said and Y/N pulled away from Draco to smile up at him. Lexia Young, Y/N's mother, had a younger brother who was killed during his second year at Hogwarts, some first year couldn't control his wand and shot the poor boy in his chest killing him instantly. Lexia was in her fifth year and had lost her only sibling, she loved him very much and also told Draco that he reminded her of him due to his platinum sliver hair as her brother had sliver highlights in his dark hair.

Y/N got into her bed and looked towards Pansy who was pulling her robe off and placing it on the chair near her own bed. "I hope this year will be the best year" Y/N said, "I have a feeling it will be the year that changes everything we ever thought was possible" Pansy said as she got into her own bed. "Goodnight Pansy" Y/N said as she turned off her candle lantern, "goodnight Y/N" Pansy replied turning over and facing one of the windows.
