"I noticed you didn't write a letter this year" Draco said as he sat opposite Y/N who was reading the rest of her novel on the library window still, "my father told me I wasn't allowed to go down to Hagrid's after a student was caught going into the forbidden forest after curfew" Y/N said as she pulled out her letter from her robe. "Mattheo" Harry said turning to the two, "that's the student who was caught" Ron said and Y/N looked up. "Why would Mattheo go into the forbidden forest after curfew?" Y/N asked and Hermione joined the group, "same reason as why Tom Riddle has come back to Hogwarts after graduating" Hermione said as they looked towards Tom who was staring at them. "Why's he staring at you like that?" Draco asked and Y/N sighed before looking up at Draco making the golden trio leave them in peace. "I went for a night walk a few nights ago because I couldn't sleep and Tom found me sitting under your favourite tree" Y/N said and Draco nodded. "We had to hide from Hagrid so I took him into the Room of Requirement" Y/N said as she looked back to her novel. "He kissed you didn't he?" Draco asked afraid of the answer, "no, he saw the Mirror of Erised" Y/N said. "And he must of seen something in the mirror that scared him because he disappeared without a trace" Y/N continued and Draco pulled the novel away from Y/N's hands. "What did you see?" Draco asked and Y/N looked at him annoyed, "bold of you to assume I even looked" Y/N said taking her novel back. "I know you Y/N, you would have looked whether you wanted to or not" Draco said and Y/N looked into Draco's eyes. "Okay I looked, happy?" Y/N said shaking her head, "what did you see?" Draco asked and Y/N fell silent. "My mother" Y/N said after a few moments, "and my father looking at me happy and proud" Y/N continued trying to avoid that she also saw him. Y/N noticed a slight smile coming from Draco as he looked down at his hands making her smile a bit as well.

Pansy and Blaise were watching the quidditch match between Slytherin and Ravenclaw as Y/N was leaning against the post looking out onto the field with a blank expression. "Why the blank face?" Blaise asked Y/N as she turned to Blaise, "I'm just thinking about something" Y/N said as she couldn't get her mind off why Mattheo would go into the forbidden forest. Y/N walked down the stairs to see Mattheo smoking outside and under the seats of the quidditch field. "I see you haven't given up smoking yet" Y/N said as she approached the boy, "and I see that you still haven't taken it up yet" Mattheo said as he tried to offer a cigarette to her. "I don't really have a reason to do it" Y/N said as Mattheo chuckled to himself, "a pretty girl like you shouldn't put toxic things in her body anyway" Mattheo said as he inhaled and pulled Y/N closer to him placing his hand on her lower back, before he pushed her chin down opening her mouth and exhaling the smoke into her mouth making her smile a little. "Leave her alone" Tom said as he approached the two making Mattheo laugh before Y/N pulled away from the boy. "Smoking is bad" Tom said as he took the cigarette out of his brothers mouth and crushed it under his shoe, "I won't tell you again" Tom continued as he slapped his brothers head making Y/N laugh at the two brothers. "I better go, I have to see my father" Y/N said as she started walking away.

Y/N and Pansy walked into potions and noticed students talking among themselves as they took their seats, Professor Slughorn wasn't to be seen and the class was getting louder in conversations. Y/N was drawing her mother from memory and Pansy was talking to Crabbe about what kind of food they should eat after class. "It looks beautiful" Draco said as he sat next to Y/N, "she's beautiful that's why" Y/N replied as she darkened her mothers long hair, "well I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" Draco said as he pulled out a green apple and took a bite making Y/N shake her head at the boy. Professor McGonagall walked into the class, "Professor Slughorn cannot make it this class please make your way to the library or back to your dormitories" Professor McGonagall said and everyone whispered before leaving the room.

"I wonder what happened" Pansy whispered to Y/N who looked down at her drawing of her mother, "I think it might be those Riddle boys" Goyle said and Draco hummed in agreement. "What do you think Y/N?" Blaise said and broke Y/N's focus on her drawing, "I don't know, I find it a bit weird that Tom is hanging around Hogwarts after graduating" Y/N said, "if I graduated I would be in a place far away from Hogwarts reading in a field of flowers" Y/N continued and Draco smiled at the girls response. "Why was Mattheo going to the forbidden forest after curfew, that's what I want to know" Pansy said and Y/N looked up at her friend. "Mattheo blew smoke into my mouth, he's weird" Y/N said catching everyones attention. "What do you mean blew smoke into your mouth" Draco said standing up as Blaise held onto his arm, "when I went to go see my father, I found Mattheo smoking under the seats and he ended up blowing smoke into my mouth before Tom told him to leave me alone" Y/N said and looked to see Blaise holding Draco back. "Did he do anything else?" Draco asked angrily, "no, I left to see my father" Y/N said as she frowned at Draco, "I'm going to fucking kill that boy" Draco said before he stomped out of the Slytherin common room. "We should follow him" Blaise said as he knew that Draco was going to cause a fight.

Y/N and Pansy held hands as they followed the boys before they heard some shouts coming from down the hallway. Y/N ran down to see Draco pinning Mattheo against the wall and shouting at him "don't ever touch her again". "She wasn't complaining" Mattheo said and Y/N tried to pull Draco away before he pushed her arm away, "I don't give a shit, I said don't ever touch her again" Draco said pushing his forearm into Mattheo's neck. "Who cares, it's not like she's your property" Mattheo said laughing before Draco punched him in the face. Draco went to walk away before Mattheo pushed him and tried to throw a punch but missed as Draco kicked Mattheo's legs under making him fall onto the ground. Draco pinned him on the ground punching him, making Blaise and Goyle grab Draco trying to pull him off as Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape were seen pushing through the crowd of students.

"Draco are you okay?" Y/N asked as Y/N walked into the hospital wing to see Narcissa sitting next to her son with an upset expression. "I don't like him Y/N and you know that" Draco said and Narcissa stood up to leave the two alone placing a kiss on Y/N's temple. Y/N sat next to Draco, "I know Draco but it was honestly an innocent act" Y/N said and reached to look at Draco's hand that was bleeding. Draco moved the ice pack from his hand and placed it beside him before he felt Y/N trace the marks with her small warm fingers. "I've never seen you so aggressive" Y/N said after few moments of silence, "I know" Draco said pulling his hand away from Y/N making her look down at her own hands. "Why did you let him do it?" Draco asked and Y/N looked to Draco to see him avoiding to look at her, "like I said before, it was an innocent act, I knew he wouldn't did anything else" Y/N said and Draco shook his head. "How do you know that?" Draco asked and chuckled to himself as he poured himself a glass of firewhiskey that his father brought for him. "Because why would he want to do something else?" Y/N said back annoyed a bit that Draco would think she would let Mattheo do anything to her.

Draco looked down at Y/N and saw she was upset with herself, "I told you not to get close with them and now apparently you are showing them a mirror of desire and letting them blow smoke into your mouth" Draco said as he took a big sip of his firewhiskey. "You seem to be liking them a little too much" Draco said after a few moments of silence and Y/N looked towards them, "shut up Malfoy" Y/N said as she was starting to get annoyed with Draco and accusing her of liking the brothers more than friends. "Hey don't be rude as you know that it may be the truth" Draco said as he put his glass down, "as soon as they come back, you talk about their muggle mother like she is the sweetest person you know, looking at their grandfather's ring like it looks nice, taking walks with them, drinking coffee during summer break" Draco continued and Y/N felt her stomach starting to feel sick. "What else?" Draco said, "Oh that's right, letting them pull you into their touch before they kiss you" Draco continued and Y/N stood up and faced Draco. "Fuck you Malfoy, just because I'm trying to make some new friends after you threw our relationship away from a stupid fight doesn't mean I'm going around kissing them. Sometimes I wonder why I never took you back instantly after that day you kissed me on my birthday or you sent me all those flowers at Hogwarts, now I know" Y/N shouted at Draco as tears were starting to fill her eyes. "Because you are just that rich boy who tries to make his father proud by putting others down to make yourself feel better" Y/N continued as she wiped her tears and walked out of the hospital wing as Draco was calling out her name "Y/N". Y/N walked past Narcissa who was holding onto Lucius hand and she couldn't look up to them as she ran down the hallway as tears were running down her cheeks and she sat in the Astronomy tower.

Y/N was crying badly as she heard someone approaching her, "go away Pansy, I want to be alone" Y/N said as the person came closer. "Y/N look at me" Dumbledore said as he stood in front of the crying girl, Y/N looked up as Dumbledore held out his hand and Y/N took it as she stood up. "It does not do to dwell on heartbreaks and forget to live while you are still young" Dumbledore said as he pulled Y/N into a hug. "It is our choices that show what we truly are in this world far more than our abilities, numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it" Dumbledore continued as he felt sympathy for the young girl. "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light" Dumbledore said as he pulled away from Y/N looking down into her bright teary eyes.
