Elena's POV

After a very long and boring flight, the pilot announced the landing. The whole flight was uncomfortable and edgy. I never hated travelling in flights but during this whole ride, everything that I wanted was to stop the flight and run back to my house and tuck in my bed safely.

John- who is probably in his middle age, was sent along by my dad to help me in Italy, which translates to baby sitting me and updating my every move to him. I was not surprised at all. John never spoke a word through the whole time which made me wish he talked. I, being me, always had the difficulty in initiating a conversation with a stranger, so I couldn't help my case either. His face was so stoic that I resolved he was sleeping with his eyes open.

Mom was almost reconsidering her decision in sending me to Italy when I boarded the flight. Almost. But soon she shooed me away asking me to "bring good news to her", like what the hell is wrong with her?

Seb tried to put on his dangerous voice and warn me to be on my best behavior, but we ended up laughing like lunatics. But he also had the longest face i've ever seen on him when I left. Made me almost think he was sweet.

Soon after I got out of the plane there was a car waiting in the airport to take me to the apartment, yes the apartment right next to Marco!

I've always wanted to live in the vintage aesthetic houses which has a touch of ancient Rome that we see in pictures. Nevertheless, streets of Rome in the night was beautiful, neither too loud nor too quiet. People on the streets were different. I liked it. The style of the buildings were different, gave my eyes a good exhibition.

But I wish I saw Rome for the first time with Marco. What was I thinking? for him to wait in the airport to welcome me?

Maybe I did.

I frowned when John said the car was waiting to take me, which made him check if everything was alright with me. Anyways I would meet him within few minutes. He is my neighbor after all.

When we reached the apartment block, it screamed "Luxury" from all corners. This place is all lush and lavish, I wonder how someone would feel at home here. But then I realize being at home  isn't really a priority when you live here.

It was all golden and glittery from outside. People with tuxedos and suits were going in and out. Benz and BMW's bolted allover. I don't think I like this place. I slowly walked in the reception and took in the surroundings, while John went in first to leave my stuffs in the apartment. It was so weird, there were so many new people and I can't bring myself to process the fact that this place is going to be my new home.

He isn't here.

 Why would he be ?

He is probably up in there. This place does seem like the one where Marco lives, because people here doesn't really seem to care about anyone else but their own ties.
