First Year:

"sev! lucius!" y/n exclaimed as her two best friends entered the train
"hello y/n," lucius smiles and embraces his friend in a hug

the three friends have been friends for as long as they can remember.

time skip to the first day cis jm lazy

"y/n!" licius shouted for his friend as she made her way to charms, she turned around to see lucius' platinum hair a bit shorter than before, it was at his shoulders, he called for her again, this time a bit more out of breath

"hello lucius," she smiled awkwardly, she had been purposely avoiding severus and lucius for the whole day, she had been sorted into gryffindor and them into slytherin, she was hoping this would not change their friendship but was a bit to afraid to say anything

"are you alright?" severus asks her

"y-yeah...fine, whats up?" she clutches her books to her chest and takes a deep breath in

"youve been avoiding us," lucius said, question in his voice, "you okay?" he reaches a hand to y/n's shoulder

"yeah..." she lies, "no," she truthfully says

"whats wrong?" severus asks, leaning his left arm against the wall, severus at his right

"well...its stupid really," she laughs awkwardly and lucius smiles at his friends cuteness

"i just thought that, well, you wouldnt want to be friends with me...since im a gryffindor and all," she says the last part as a faint whisper

"y/n..." lucius whispers sensitively as if his loud voice will hurt her

"we would never stop being friends with you just because your a gryffindor," severus said

"yeah...we love you, no matter what,"
y/n smiles and just as she was about to hug the boys a black messy haired boy called her name

"oi! y/n! we're going to be late for class!" it was james; sirius, remus and peter just behind him entering the class

"coming!" she called out to him, "see you boys later?" she turned to her friends and they nodded and smiled, heading for herbology

y/n headed over to james, interlocked arms and headed into charms greeted by a smiling sirius black, beckoning them to sit him

( time skip to sixth year )

y/n and the marauders have become super close, they even invited her to be one of them, but she turned them down, feeling as if she would be betraying her friends in slytherin if she did so.

during a free period on a friday afternoon, the marauders set up a prank, as usual. y/n had been walking around with them, they were explaining their plan to her, but, to her dismay, they didnt tell her who the target was.

y/n was now waiting outside charms class along with the marauders, it completely slipped her mind that her best friend, severus snape, was in that class. the bell had rung and students in blue, yellow and green robes exited the room.

why aren't they attacking the slytherins? or anyone else for that matter...

y/n asked themselves, just before the realisation could hit her severus had walked out of class, just as he had exited the door red paint had been poured all over him, y/n cringed knowing that it was red hair dye rather than paint and just after that gold star-dust was dropped above him. the smell of hair dye filled the hallway and severus glared at the laughing boys then at y/n. she apologized with her eyes, brows furrowing as she did, but severus just walked away, 'save it' he had said in her mind.
