41 Moons: Winter

The season was winter and prey was scarce. My rangers have barely enough to eat but we can manage. "Hey Lightningbreeze?" Swanpetal asked in a panic. She had deep claws marks probably from a fox attack. "What happened Swanpetal!?!" I asked as I stood to my paws. "I was attacked by a fox while out on patrol and my new claw Thrush was killed by the same fox that attacked me." Swanpetal said panicking. "Alright, go to the healers den and Snowsight will take care of your injuries. She did for me and I know that she will do it for you." I explained. "Okay Lightningbreeze." Swanpetal said as she walked over to the healers den. I was taking a walk through our territory with my son Flowersky and my paw slipped out from underneath me and I started to fall. "Mom!!!" Flowersky said as he grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and pulled me up. "Thanks Flowersky, you are always there for me." I said. "But Adderwing and I were there for you mom." Flowersky said. "I miss her so much." I said as a tear started rolling down my face. "I miss her too, mom." Flowersky said. "And now I almost fell off the edge of the gorge." I said. "Well I did see Sabortooth and Ashtail in our territory when I was on a patrol." Flowersky said. "What, what were they doing?" I asked surprised. "It looked like they were losing some rocks to probably kill you or seriously hurt you." Flowersky said. "Thanks for telling me Flowersky." I said. "Your welcome mom." Flowersky said as Snow the pitbull ran up to us. "Pike colony is under attack!" Snow said panicking. "Alright Snow, I will get a patrol ready to go." I said as we ran back to base and towards the tall rock. "Cats of Lightning colony gather around the tall rock for a meeting." I announced. "We have to get patrols ready to help Pike colony because they are being attacked. So I will be going to be taking with me, Flowersky, Cloudwhisper, Darkspot, and Spotteddream." I announced in a serious tone of voice. "Then I want Swanpetal to take with her, Silversky, Dovecover, Crookedoak, Wrenwhisker, and Eggice. We will move out at once." I announced as the patrols gathered together. I walked off of my rock and towards my patrol. "Are you guys ready to set out to Pike colony?" I asked. "Yes we are Lightningbreeze." Darkspot said. "Swanpetal is your patrol ready?" I asked Swanpetal. "Yes we are Lightningbreeze, we are just waiting for your word." Swanpetal said. "Patrols move out." I said as we walked out of base and towards Pike colony.
