The Background Kind Of Guy

Chapter One

People say if life were a movie there's always four roles.
The Protagonist, The Supporting Character, The Antagonist and The Background Character.

Only three of these Character get to experience the excitement of life, going through good and bad conflicts like any movie or book would.

The brave Protagonist filled with courage, charm and belief in their heart.

The Supporting Character always by the Protagonist's side giving them wise advice, goofing off and bringing the comedy into the mix.

The Antagonist filled with jealousy and hatred for the Protagonist, making schemes in order to bring the Protagonist down.

Then...There's people like me; The Background Character.

We just sit there, observing silently having short conversation, Watching the others go by with their adventure, daydreaming about being like them someday, just... being apart of something big; dating the girl of our dreams, having an overly excited friend, having people look up to us envying our personality.

I wanna be there. I wish I was the Protagonist but...What's so special about me?

My name is Tony Thompson, I have ginger curled hair, emerald green eyes. A great natural look for a guy like myself, I'd feel confident with my looks but, my glasses throws me off. I look more wimpy.

Do I have friends? No. No I don't. Despite of having the chance to socialize, I don't really have the knack of maintaining a good friendship, one day they'd just say I'm to awkward and ditch to be the popular kids.

It doesn't matter anyway, I just do what I do best...Sit and wait till someone talks to me. Which doesn't work.

But hey! At least I got my pet cat Pubbie. I mean he's pretty cool. He's a crossed eyed thirty five year old black cat that managed to out live my father. Still going out strong.

Other than that there's nothing special about me. I'm just a Background Kind Of Guy who has big dreams to someday be something more than I am now.

And someday, just someday I'm gonna make it happen.
