Two weeks...
My room was pitch black, beside the dying flash light I was using to look at old photos on our album, most people have their phones but, we have an album. As I looked through it
I had felt cold, numb, hopless.

I lost practically everything.
My Mom and Brother mostly never want to talk to me ever again but, it's not like they ever have. Audrey hasn't called nor text me.

She hasn't even talked to me at school. I was back to square one. Invisible. Their the bird and I'm the glass.

It didn't really matter anyway.
I had felt depressed that Pubbie was now gone.

Never to come back again. I'll never be able to touch his soft black fur, never look into his yellow crossed eyes, never talk to him, give him his favorite treats, kiss him.

Pubbie was also the last thing I had to be reminded by my father, but more positive than negative, well actually the only positive thing I had from my father...

Back at 1980s about 1986, my father was just six years old.
They had gone late shopping for presents around Christmas week.

My father and his father and mother were walking through the streets, holding the presents they had bought for his cousins and siblings. As they walked my father had spotted a black innocent  kitten, freezing, meowing in hunger. He had seemed to be a newborn. Seemed to be abandoned.

My father, who was a curious child, ran across the street of oncoming cars, going for the kitten, scaring my grandparents half to death.

Luckily my father wasn't hurt.
He grabbed his scarlet red scarf, wrapping the kitten with it, giving him warmth.

"Can we please keep him Mommy?" He pouted.

"I don't know, what do you think honey?" She asked looking at my grandfather.

"Well, if you get that kitten I'm afraid I'll give the new Nintendo to you're older brother."

"I don't care, I just want him, Pubbie."

"Pubbie?"

"Yeah...that's his name, Pubbie Thompson."

"What a strange name...how about Oliver or Whiskers?" His mother suggested

"No, I like Pubbie." My Father hugged his new cat tightly.

"Alright then, let's go home."

The rest was history...

If you were wondering, no. I hadn't burried the body yet.
Sounds strange saying It like that it sounds more of a murder who's running away from the law or something...let's change that. No I haven't took him to rest yet.

And no he's not in my room, I took him in the freezer that was in our garage, we don't use it, it was practically empty.
The only one Who'd use it was my father but, you know.

A sudden growl had bursted from my stomach. I haven't been eating as much, I wonder how much weight I had lost.
Likely about five pounds, maybe more.

I stood up, nearly falling backwards due to how light headed I felt. I haven't gotten out of this bed since Friday, which was the day after Pubbie's passing.

Once I gained balance, I waddled my way downstairs, silently.

My mother was in the family room watching her favorite Soap Opera, she had it loud so, the yelling and crying of the scenes became very loud than faint.
