-Shade's POV-

"I am starting to get sick of you!" The Witch growled and shoved me back down on the bed. 7 times. That is how many attempts at escape I have tried. "I suppose it is time I teach you a lesson." My eyes widen in shock as her usual fake grin now turned into a snarl.

"That suits you a lot more." I spat before getting flung across the room by her power. My shadow wrapped me in a cocoon in an attempt to protect me, but it instantly vanished with a wave of her hand. My back crashed into a wall, and I let out a pained cry.

"Tsk, that bitch is still such a pain even when she is dead." The Witch clicked her tongue and commanded her minions to tie me up and bring me to the spell room. Clara was my mum. That much the Witch told me about. In an attempt to make me despair, she told me that the power I got was a combination of my parent's power. When my mum took her last breath, she gave life to a shadow that would act as my guardian. Before my dad disappeared, he enchanted the shadow with a protection spell that would protect me.

The shadow that I hated so much became my most reliable ally in my current state. Without it, I wouldn't be able to think of escaping at all. But against the Witch, it was useless. This Witch wielded strong dark magic as well. Even though my shadow is never really gone, she is able to disperse it with ease.

I kicked and dragged my feet against the floor, struggling to get away from these lifeless zombies. But alas, it was useless.

They threw me into the room, where the Witch had drawn a magic circle. In an instant, my shadow went to attack the Witch, conjuring spears on all sides of the dark room. The Witch was unimpressed at the attempt and simply waved them off.

"Haven't you learnt? You can't use such basic spells against me." The Witched just yawned and continued in what she was doing. She crept towards me like a predator and a feeling washed over me. A feeling I knew so well. The feeling of someone who wanted me dead.

-Arc's POV-

I howled at them to hurry up, pumping my legs faster than I should.

Ever since Alectos blocked himself off from the world, I had been trying my best to learn how to walk and talk like a human. Not to mention, alpha duties. Humans have it tough.

A few hours ago, Hart reported that he found tracks that seemed to belong to the Witch. I shifted and started running towards the direction that he said with Jan ran closely behind me. Hector, Blaze and Rain were in a car. Hart and Gretel were flying through the sky, Hart as an owl while Gretel shapeshifted into a hawk for better vision.

A sudden fear gripped my hear and I tripped over a tree root. I tumbled forward and yelped in pain. I involuntarily shifted and saw a minor gash at my leg. Controlling shifting is pretty difficult.

"What happened?" Gretel asked, shifting back into his human form right before he descended onto the ground.

"Mate, scared." I tried to find the best words to describe but talking is difficult. So many words that I need to use.

"You can feel him?" Gretel asked urgently.

"Yes."

"Lead us there."

I nodded and shifted back into my wolf. There was some minor pain at my hind leg, but it was healed enough. I pushed myself on, towards the direction where I can feel the tug deep in my soul

-3rd person POV-

As Arc and his company pushed forward to the orphanage holding Shade captive. The Witch was continuing on with her dark spell.
