Readers, what you are about to witness is probably the most G-rated high school party you will ever see. Screw drinking and hooking up. Nah, we're doing cake cutting and having water gun fights 😃👍

"You look ugly!" the chippy voice confidently said through the phone.

"Innie, you are seconds away from being hung up on," Felix mock threatened, walking out of the house. "It's not like I chose to dress up like this!"

"Do I need to remind you that you're half an hour late to your own birthday party?"

"Yang Jeongin, I'm hitting the end call button..."

"No, no, sorry!" Jeongin said. "But... why are you late?"

Felix sighed. Today was the special day and Felix had been ready to leave early. That was until his mom saw him leave the house in a hoodie and sweatpants and freaked out as if he had just committed a war crime. She had absolutely refused to let Felix leave for his first party, his own party of all things, looking like he had 'climbed out of the sewers.' The next excruciating half an hour had been spent on making Felix do a clothing try-a-ton and fighting with him for the right to use makeup. The result was Felix looking like a kpop idol but was also scrambling late, so was it really worth it?

Oh, and Jeongin had decided to call him right before he left the house to 'wish him on his special day,' aka mock him.

"Parents. You gotta love them," Felix said, rolling his eyes. "I gotta run!"

     "Have fun!"

"Do you want me to have fun, or do you want me to make a fool of myself and hopefully have someone film it?" Felix asked skeptically.

     "Whichever comes first!" Jeongin teased.

"You know what, screw you. I'm hanging up and leaving."

"Okay, bye!" Jeongin said. "Happy early birthday!"

"Thanks, Innie," Felix said, his heart annoyingly melting from the cheerfulness of the little devil. "See you tomorrow for our little get-together! Seungmin and Channie hyung are also coming."

Silence at the end of the line.

"... I don't want to speak to them."

Felix gasped. "You haven't made up yet!? Seungmin told me yesterday that he will find you!"

"I avoided him! I don't want to hear what he needs to say!"

Felix shook his head in disbelief. This was one of those times where he really wished he knew exactly what their fight had been about. "Okay, Innie, no. Seungmin and Channie hyung are coming tomorrow, and so are you. So you are going to talk things out and become friends again, kapeesh?"

     "No, hyung, I-"

"Oh no, the wifi is breaking up on my street. I- I can't hear you. I'll call you back later!" Felix hung up before he could hear Jeongin's yells on the other line. He felt slightly guilty, but his real birthday was the next day and he had to lay down the law if any progress was going to be made.

The days were getting shorter around this time of year so it was already dark, the street lights being the only illumination. Felix felt uneasy being out this late, still a bit new to this city. Luckily, he knew his way to Jisung's house. He took a big sip of the thermos where he had some coffee to let him stay up the night.
