I had a weird amount of fun doing research for this chapter XD I'm going to give a bit more context about how the assassination world work, at least in this story.
Oh, and from this point, there will be a few more extra characters, but they have no connection to existing idols or other people. Any similarity is purely a coincidence.
Hyunjin, Changbin, and Minho had gotten straight to action, mapping out a proper plan to protect their group. It was time to put it in place.
So at the end of the following week, everyone was gathered in the school gym, well after closing hours. Chan had convinced the faculty that he was holding a special club meeting and could be trusted with the key and being alone in the school. They then proceeded to lock the gym doors, reasoning that they could just say the doors had gotten jammed if anyone found out.
There was a catch though. The gym served potential as a meeting spot only if it wasn't used too often. "We'd raise a lot of Kalarc and Bulsong eyes if we have regular meetings here. We need to keep these meetings discreet, subtle enough so they won't arise suspicion. Any other training can be done at the sports centre," Minho said.
But for now, the eight were truly alone. Well, Hyunjin hadn't arrived yet. They all gathered in the storage room for extra safety.
Now, the stage was set for Minho. He came to the front, welcoming everyone's attention.
"Okay, guys. Today, we're going to learn about knives."
Awkward silence. Everyone looked very skeptical about that notion.
"Cool. Are we also going to learn about guns!?"
Except for Jeongin. Seungmin slapped him on the back of the head at that statement, looking very displeased. Jeongin responded with a glare and a pout.
"Actually, I'm glad you asked that, Jeongin."
All of Changbin's hopes and dreams plummeted when he saw Minho struggling to hide a smirk. Why, oh why, had he thought it would be a good idea to let Minho do the talking?
"The answer isn't any more complicated than that guns are illegal in Korea," Minho said.
"Dude, your organization kills people for a living and you're worried about legality?" Jisung said.
"The law isn't the problem, Jisung," Minho said with a scoff. "It's convenience. The government will only issue licenses for sporting and hunting rifles and even if that is acquired, they'd need to be stored in the police office all the time. There are no dealers in Nila, so the only way to get our hands on the models we want would be to hire a smuggler, which has its own complications. Plus, most of the dealers I know in the east charge a fortune and are as stubborn as hell. So yeah, in theory, I'd be able to use a gun, but Bulsong has no reason to invest in them."
"You guys have outer connections?" Seungmin asked. "I thought this entire Alley assassin thing stayed in the Alley."
A chuckle emerged within a group, quickly growing into a loud laugh.
"Oh, you have no idea," Changbin said between snorts. "The assassination industry is massive."
"I have the talking stick, Changbin," Minho scolded. "You can flex about how you know everyone in the underworld later."
