The next few chapters are definitely going to be the 'edge of your seat' type and I'm really hyped for them! So much action, so much excitement, so much pain-
*cue aggressive coughing* ANYWAYS, I'm not the best at writing action, but I did my best, so hopefully it serves well in this chapter. Also, this chapter will have slightly more graphic scenes of violence and blood than what I've shown in this story so far, but it's not too bad. Enjoy!
Minho had lived with an alarm inside of him for most of his life. He'd never know when it would ring but once it did, everything became orderly and chaotic at the same time. Things needed to be done. They needed to be done fast. Everything would be hell until they got done.
So when someone he was supposed to protect was now in the most danger, Minho had an alarm ringing so loudly, his head pounded as he jumped out of his seat.
"The attack is happening now! Everyone, LISTEN!"
"SEUNGMIN!" Felix was clutching the phone as if it was Seungmin's lifeline, trying to bring him back.
"Felix, I need you to go right now." Minho ignored his despair, his gnawing worry for his friend, because worry never got him anywhere. "Go to the police station and tell them that Seungmin is in danger. Tell them that his line got cut. They might not believe you. That's okay, leave it at that. Your report will still make them aware and they'll jump out of their seats when there's more cause for action. Then, go wait at the close enough to Parliament that you'll know what's going on, but not close enough to be seen. Do not go inside, okay? Call any of us if there's anything suspicious going on. Go."
Felix just stood there for a moment, blinking rapidly, his mind trying to catch up to a blizzard.
"Felix, GO!"
Chan's voice from the computer woke him up. Felix burst out of the room and everyone heard his footsteps down the stairs and out the door.
What everyone missed was Jisung clutching Felix's wrist for just a moment before he ran off. A sign of reassurance, but also perhaps of something else only the two knew about.
Minho turned his attention to Chan. "Chan hyung, go straight home. There's no need to be involved."
Despite his seemingly heightened awareness right now, Chan also hesitated. His face fell for just a second before it became rigid. "I'm on my way there anyways. Good luck everyone." He clicked off but everyone knew there would be no peace of mind for Chan until disaster had been averted and everyone was standing at the end of it.
Minho shot Hyunjin and Changbin a look. "You both know what to do."
"Hyunjin, let's go," Changbin said, his voice masking any possible fear or worry. Maybe he also had an alarm ringing in his head.
Hyunjin barely gave a downward tip of his head before he and Changbin were also out the door.
That left Minho and Jisung.
Minho didn't acknowledge Jisung as he took out his phone. It was like the lines between friends and conveniences got blurred as he worked. There was a reason he hadn't sent Jisung with Felix to the police station. As the phone rang, Minho had a sinking feeling about the news he was going to get.
"... Lee Know?"
"Miyeon, where are you!? We need to stake out my parent's headquarters now."
